Romance Obsessed! | 7 comments Any kind of book where the Heroine has had a misserable childhood, struggled in any way, and had to survive on her own. I prefer heroine who is shy or quiet or just smart and calculating. The hero doesn't cheat, I don't prefer dark dark twisted romances, I like a hero thats unique in character, and I prefer a hero thats not a sports player, I prefer he be military or sci-fi, or warrior, or just anything but a rich jerk or a billionaire or college. I love sci-fi, paranormal, MC bikers, shifters, etc. Thank you!

Crystal | 326 comments Poison Study is one of my all time favourites. It has a heroine who has a dark/abused past - she's a little quiet but quite calculating. In the beginning of the book, she is in prison for murder so it starts off with her surviving on her own from the start!

The hero doesn't cheat and he's an assassin/spy that works for the leader of the country.

This story leans towards a historical/fantasy/adventure/romance

Rules of Redemption this is sci-fi, in space. The girl is what I considered smart, strong and calculating. It's more of an adventure romance. Really great.

Once Burned Scarred heroine turned power welding girl. And Vlad the Vampire for the hero. One of my most favourite urban fantasy romance ever.

Lynn (lynnbar) | 126 comments I also recommend Poison Study by Maria V Snyder.

Possibly you’d also enjoy the series by Anne Bishop that starts with Written in Red.

King’s Property by Morgan Howell is the first in the Queen of the Orcs trilogy. The heroine has a very rough start at the beginning & her hero is somewhat different.

Once Burned is an interesting recommendation because I love the Night Huntress series and loved Vlad in it, but for some reason never read the spin off series. I'm putting it on my to-read list though haha - it looks promising!
