Task: Option 1:
7. There are a lot of 'classic' movies and serials on Disney+
* Read a 'classic' book from one of the following lists: ....

Fish and Ghosts [*book:Fish and Ghosts|35893898] by Rhys Ford 240 pages

How it fits: Timeless MM romance #177

read: 10/03/20
rated: 5 stars
review:
Wow what a book. I love Tris and Wolf and went to buy the next book of this series while still reading the first one. This story is just to good to pass by. Give me some mystery and paranormal and a really good writing stile combined with some humour and I´m happy as can be. If you like these things too and haven´t read this book go for it.

Option 1: 10. National Geographic is a very popular option on Disney+

* Read a book with an animal on cover.
'Animal' definition: any living animal other than a human being.
Birds and insects count. Must be a real animal, not mythical. A drawn bookcover that includes an animal will count, but not statues etc.

Wow. It's been so long since I've read one these books I forgot how truly horrible they are. Everything about it was cheesy and ridiculous. Their speaking, their actions, how fast everything moved along...just no thanks.

I have a big dog and always wanted a big dog not such a small yapping thing I would be afraid to step on but freckles sounds awesome and looks adorable on the cover. Nearly as adorable as the dog is his surprise owner. With his upbringing it is no wonder that he has problems getting in contact with other people. He only has no problems at all when it comes to reassure people who come to help for him as he can shield himself with his lawyer persona. I´m glad Sandy saw through the exterior and took a gamble on him. A re-read for me but nearly like a new book as it was a long time ago I read this book the first time.

Review: The biggest thing I missed was the sex. There really wasn't much of anything. There was talk about Justin being a virgin & I would have liked to have seen that explored. Hank was rather a jerk in the beginning as he assumed things about Justin that weren't true. I loved how much Hank changed his life, in a short period of time, to accommodate his niece. I would have liked to have seen that buttoned up. Even though Justin wasn't living with them, you could see them as a sweet, loving family. I really enjoyed this one.

Review:

I found this book okay at best. I felt there was a few issues for me about this book. I don't feel that grabing a falcon from its nest at a young age just from the egg would be able to survive and be able to flawlessly fly right away without having parents to teach it. I am sure the mother and father would contact the police about a runaway or missing clhild and not have them to survive for a year by themselves without the police looking out for them. I like the concipted of Sam learning how to survive on his own and how hard it is if you don't have a kind libaraian that can help you find the books you need.

Task: Animal on cover

Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid
310 pages
How it fits: drawings of a bird and a fish on the cover
Read: 10/10/2020
Rating: ★★★★

Review: Emira is a 25-year-old black woman who babysits Briar, the two-year-old daughter, of the affluent (and white) Chamberlains. One evening, Mrs. Chamberlain calls Emira late at night and asks her to take Briar out of the house due to a family emergency. They head to a local grocery store where Briar will be distracted by various wares. Some people at the store think that Emira is kidnapping Briar and make a scene about it; the encounter is videotaped by Kelley, who soon becomes Emira's boyfriend. Little does Emira know that Kelley has a past connection to Mrs. Alix Chamberlain. This book is very timely given all the controversy surrounding race relations today. I really loved how Emira and Briar connect and have such a sweet relationship. Alix and her friends are absolutely awful in the way they try to manipulate Emira and her relationship with Kelley. It's abhorrent how they treat her like an ignorant child who needs someone to tell her what to do. This is a book I am sure I will remember for a long time.

Really, really enjoyed this book and all it's characters. Barnaby Birtwistle...what a name. Anyways, Barnaby and Travis were the cutest. Loved how shy, teacher Barnaby was quite the dirty, badass in the bedroom. Hot! Loved the poetry in the book, loved the hockey and loved Jack and Grady. Hoping they have a book I can read. Not all sweet and sappy but dealing with their real life issues. Excellent read.

Book: A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
237 pages
How it fits: Published May 5, 2011

Review: This book probably deserves more than 3 stars but I can't honestly say I really liked it or that it was amazing. This story about a 13-year-old boy whose (single) mom is dying of cancer is absolutely heartbreaking. I am a single mom to a 13-year-old boy so maybe it just hit too close to home. I actually checked this book out for him to read but he turned to the last page and decided he didn't want to read it! Charlie imagines a tree coming to life as a monster as a way of coping (or rather not coping) with his mother's impending death. He faces bullies at school and hates how his teachers treat him with kid gloves. His dad has run off to the US with another woman. He doesn't get along well with his grandmother, his only other relative. This book was originally started by Siobhan Dowd, who died from cancer before she could finish it. The book is a lovely tribute but so incredibly sad!
