Addison Cain is DARK. She has several books written. This book isn’t paranormal necessarily. It does deal with the Alpha and Omega Dynamic in a dystopian future. It’s also is very emotional. She also has a few other series starters you might want to check into.
Another very DARK vampire series

by Sommerland.

I know this also has the Alpha and Omega dynamic, but I can’t recall if they’re shifters or not. It’s Dark.

It’s DARK but there’s an element that might not agree with some.
Less DARK and more main stream Paranormal Romance:
Kresley Cole has the Immortals After Dark series

Ilona Andrews. created:

It’s a popular writer. They (it’s a husband and wife effort) have several other series, like

K.F. Breene has two series

And

I enjoyed the sudden appearance of great power, and every flaw and uncontrollable skills to yield it. Our heroine might have the most powerful magic, but that means zilch when all she can do is blow up things and make accidental creatures. Every book she slowly learns to control it.
Suzanne Wright also has several series:

And her

Jennifer Armentrout wrote

It’s good and deals with the Fae.
With all my suggestions, please be sure to read the sample pages first before deciding.

If anyone is interested in reading it and telling me what they think, I will gladly send you a pdf version.

Dinner with a vampire-Abigail Gibbs is good but it is YA. Also The witches of New York was good. Lets see; A taste of Blood wine, this was good but long. The Vine Witch was also good.

Kittykat! Always one step ahead of me!

EVERY. OPPORTUNITY!!! 🤣 And great minds and all that lol!
I have a list of a handful of authors that I shamelessly pimp out at any given opportunity simply because they deserve more love, and TJ is one of them.

The Beyond series by Kit Roche (also a duel writing effort) isn’t necessarily dark. But it more of a dystopian with a dark and erotic feel to it.

WOW Billie! That is a fantastic list. Thank you for the time to put it out here.

Ah, Shelly Laurenston is my list of pimpees (I do like to make up nonsense words 🤣) but her shifter books don't fit the 'brief' here. Far too fun, lighthearted and ridiculous, not to say utterly hilarious! I'm savouring the Dragon Kin books though... they're going on my 2021 list!

Absolutely true, but you took my TJKlune Rec!

This one is VERY dark for a fantasy book.

(Princes' Game #1)
Also, I think any of the Vampire Queen books by Joey W. Hill would be considered a bit dark, sexy, and gritty.

(Vampire Queen #1)

Jilted is a paranormal romance novella included in the Soul's Day Boxset that released on 10/20/20, just in time for Halloween. It's a best selling anthology on Amazon.

Nadira Holden, Demon Hunter book series
Two books out and one on the way
"Resurrected into present-day New York, Nadira Holden is asked to save the world ... again. She achieved legendary status when she gave her life to protect humans from demons. To her, it was yesterday. To the rest of the world, it was twenty years ago."

A Vampyre's Daughter
Trapped on a desolate island, two unlikely kindred spirits, a troubled Army vet and a beautiful lonely vampyre, battle for their lives and their newfound love against a powerful, ancient evil that hunts them both.
Not a typical vampire story. A healthy mix of action, love, suspense, guns, gore, and humor. Fun for everyone!
ebook, print, and audiobook. The sequel, "A Vampyre's Sunrise" is also available.

And if I might slip in a cheeky little plug for my own book... I write supernatural thrillers (I think of it as UF / Horror cross over) and my first has had a really good reception since it came out at the end of July. It's basically paranormal journalists take on demon mime artist, and has plenty of action, mystery, secret history, supernatural goings on and a touch of romance, if that sounds like your kind of thing... Mime

I'm looking for books with girls or women with the power SUPER STRENGTH. Any suggestions?
Thanks :)

Check out Angels Fall! I really think you will like The Fallen Angel Series!
Angels Fall

Not expensive and many reading hours (it's kind of 4 books in one). I think it's also enrolled in Smashwords end of the year sale. Might be a good plan. ;)

It's free to read on KU

hi
I recently read the supernatural battle series by Kelly St Clare. I think you'd enjoy them since its a bit different from other urban fantasy books I've read recently. There are 2 series out now- one with vampires and the other werewolves.
another series is the hall of blood and mercy series which is very YA but it's still fun. Reading them just made me feel happy more than anything.

An extraordinary psychological fantasy thriller about five friends who wake up to a deserted, sunless Earth.

Bold as it is, I actually am going to plug my own book. Its urban realist fantasy (doesn't that sound awful pretentious?).
Basically the book is set in an inner city community in Dublin, it features a lot the wit you'd expect from Roddy Doyle but within the main narrative is a supernatural core and you can do worse right now as I am currently running on countdown on https://www.amazon.com/Clementine-Lan...
