Request: paging/location for digital books ?

Many times, when reading a book in digital format, instead of page number, it will give you a location (for example: 50% through the book might read location 1500 of 3000). Here is an example of what I mean:

Currently, there is nothing for "page location" in the book description, so sometimes, when trying to get a "total page count YTD" it will be inaccurate as the book will not have any kind of page count listed. I know, also, some are hesitant to add in a page count for a digital book, with the explanation that it can vary depending on (for example) which e-reader was used, or variation for type/size of font. Maybe the page count could/should be based on an agreed "average" font type and size? I guess what I am asking/requesting is a better way/process to be able to accurately show/list/provide page count(s) for digital books.
