efterval,no new recordings for 17 years, but, yes, the mighty misty in roots are still on the go, just as good as they ever were. predictably going for something off the best live album in history, purely because the song has been bouncing around my head recently. give thanks for keeping u.k. roots alive.

:0
"the same song all evening"no fuss 'n' fight here. i'm a man who deals in peace love and unity!
give thanks and praise for the poor heathens.

An argument used by folk from one cultural tradition of another they only partially understand. Country music is all pedal steel guitar and songs about drinking and broken relationships, blues is all ...... etc. Misty do what they do (militant roots reggae) brilliantly and you either see and appreciate the diversity within or you don't and if you're of the latter persuasion you're entitled to your opinion but sharing it won't engender the harmony you undoubtedly intended. Opinions are, after all, like @rseholes, everyone's got one but airing it in public is frequently undesirable ..................... especially if it stinks.
This pair of customer reviews for one of Dr Bird's reggae rereleases illustrates the gulf somewhat (neither of them are right in my OPINION!);

Opinions, we all got em.Thank Christ they differ.
Ozric fkn Tentacles is another....same song...all day long....saw em live too, now they were boring. :0

In fairness, Tech has never been shy in giving his low opinion of about 90% of every other style of music, so I think he can take a minor diss.
And hey, look, I nommed a track in a reggae round, 'cos I'm not impartial to a bit of dub like what's in the back end of my chosen offering.

But i really do need some new readers soon.....can't get to me opticians, they're not open atm, thanks to this bloody pandemic. :(
Okay doke..i can't pretend to say that i think all his songs do sound the same to my differently tuned aural inputs; but then having said that, I suspect Tech probably thinks the same of my favoured genre of music..so sticks and stones and all that! :) But yeh..it were awright....kinda, plenty of other stuff out there I'd loathe way way more than a bit of Reggae for sure.....but these are the only ones I'm prepared to award an numerical value to! ......

It's a bladder condition!... Oh, PISCINE!
"his songs" - their songsyou either like it or you don't, get it or you don't - no matter, but perhaps an element of sameness is due to 5 noms from their 7 track 'live' debut (5 from a live album? bet that's never happened before). it's a magnificent album, but not my favourite (that'd be 'wise and foolish' (nominated in full), now run out and buy all their albums! only, you can't, except for a download of 'roots controller' (sadly free of noms) (half studio 2003, half catalogue sampler), even corn-fed are deleting their remasters in order to hand the tapes to the band 'in hope rather than expectation'. misty in roots, for me are the pinnacle of u.k. roots - unlike aswad and steel pulse, they never sold out!
Apologies for not voting but they all sounded the sa........!! ;¬) No real excuse (binge-watching SWAT of all things) and genuinely sorry about this one.
Mebbes nominate the twin peak of UK roots; Talisman?
Actually Aswad would be interesting - Three Babylon vs Don't Turn Around - no prizes for predicting the winner (unfortunately).

Wiki tells me that their first album was released in 1979, and lists 8 albums and a bucket load of singles and EPs up to 2002. As far as I can tell, they are still playing, no doubt Tech can clarify that one.
Usual thing, noms in by 10 pm Sunday evening, leave a link to your nom, and come back to vote next week.
Have a fun weekend :-)
