Who is your favourite character so far?
What are your thoughts on the writing?

*SPOILERS BELOW*

Maegan Mahoney (maegan1116) | 8 comments I think I go back and forth on who my favorite character is. I really like both Ari and Dante. I think I might have to go with Ari because we have his POV and therefore understand him a bit more. Dante does intrigue me though. I'm surprised by how much I like all 4 of the parents in this story. I normally don't care for parents in books but they are real and relatable. I'm really starting to like Ari's dad. He seems to have such a sweet and kind soul under all the pain and baggage of war. Plus he seems like he understands now that Ari feels like he doesn't know him and that he's trying harder in his own ways to relate to his son.

Marya May | 5 comments I'm absolutely in love with Ari. I find that we are very similar, maybe because of that fact, that we are both 15. But he is like my friend. I love his character, his thoughts, his actions. I lobve Dante too, but not so much

Kassie (sassyykassie) | 36 comments I really love Dante and Ari frustrates me with his lack of ability to TALK about feelings. Ugh
I'm hoping that that is what his character development will be... Because I'm so ready to see him less frustrated and conflicted and more willing to talk.

Rachael Hobson (bostonbookbitty) While I was reading this, I would jot down my feelings as soon as I finished each section of the book. Kinda like how Ari would jot down his feelings. This is what I had to say for this section of the book.

"Ari is so angry. Yes, he's angry about being hurt. Who wouldn't be frustrated or impatient? But I think he is more hurt because he isn't invisible anymore. He is so uncomfortable in his own skin, that he prefers to be detached from everyone else. Well, being injured and needing around the clock care- that's impossible isn't it? He seems afraid of being scrutinized. Side note- Thank Christ, they both lived. For a second, I though my heart was going to be crushed."

Elize Russell (bookscookslooks) Very powerful writing. I feel more of a connection with Dante and I don't always understand Ari. I think that is the way it was meant to be though. He doesn't even understand himself.

Ditta Reads (ditareads) | 14 comments Dante is really growing on me, as favorite character. But I have to say that I still like Ari a lot too.

The parents from Ari and Dante are really likeable, which is nice since I normally don't really read about realistic and nice parents.

Omg so happy nobody died. *huge relief*
Sad that Ari broke his legs though, it made him so frustrated. :(
