Let's begin! Over the next two months we will be reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (one of my FAVOURITE books!)

Discuss the first section down below.
Are you liking the characters so far?
What are you expecting from the book?

*SPOILERS BELOW*

Barbara Pizarro (bpizarro11) I am loving the book so far. I've been connecting more to Ari. It's taking me back when I was that age and all the self discovery of who you are and how you see the world around you. I can't wait to see how Ari & Dante's relationship progress through the novel.

Sigrid (tiggel) I have finished the book already, but I really loved this first part! I think the relationship Ari has with his mum is so nice. I like that this book has a lot of scenes with parents, because your parents really are a big part of your life when you are young.
How Ari meets Dante is also very cute. Dante's personality is so nicely introduced in this first part. The whole thing with the shoes, and the bird thing. I was just hooked with this story and relationship right away.

Clancy (ClancyBooks) | 5 comments I like Dante the best, but Ari is still an interesting character. I'm really enjoying this so far, might be a new favourite hopefully! I can't wait to find out how Ari progresses in life!

Kassie (sassyykassie) | 36 comments I love that we have characters who are mexican American! I love getting some diversity in ya novels!
I also love how they met and that Dante taught ari how to swim. And they're differences are just as intriguing as their similarities.

I can't wait to read more!

Maegan Mahoney (maegan1116) | 8 comments I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book or not. I'm really glad I found this book group which gave me the push to pick this up because so far I really like it. The writing style is so great. Everything flows so well. I'm reading the ebook on my iPhone and I've been highlighting passages left and right.

I'm not sure what to expect from the rest of the book but I'm really enjoying it and the characters.

Rachael Hobson (bostonbookbitty) While I was reading this, I would jot down my feelings as soon as I finished each section of the book. Kinda like how Ari would jot down his feelings. This is what I had to say for this section of the book.

"I find myself relating more to Dante than to Ari. But both characters are very interesting. It brings me back to when I was going through my own self discovery. I love how we, as readers, are experiencing this difficult time with them. I particularly enjoyed how it doesn't feel awkward or intrusive. It feels natural, like we belong with them. I think its because we all have been there."

Elize Russell (bookscookslooks) I'm not sure how I am going to feel about this book but I guess I will see as I move through it. Very glad to be pushed to read it and see my thoughts and reaction. I really enjoy the atmosphere though. Very unique, only generated from a very advanced and refined author. I'm intrigued enough to move through it.

P.S. Am I the only one with a cover that bends ridiculously. Even before I started reading it the cover bent all the way up as if I was folding it in half.

Ditta Reads (ditareads) | 14 comments It feels very pleasant to read. Ari and Dante are really nice characters so far. I'm intrigued by them. I think Ari is my favorite for now, but I like them both! I also like how they have different relations with their parents, and that that is part of the book. :)

Glad I finally picked up this book. I'm curious what will be happening.
