Hi. I'm hoping that someone can help me. I wanted to check what genre my book is listed under on the GoodReads website to see how it is being categorized for readers when they view it. I am listed under paranormal, fantasy, and fiction on my Author Page. However, when I checked the book's page, I cannot find any links indicating what genre the book falls under. Is this something that I have to add? If so, how do I do it? I have checked other book pages and have found links stating what genre they fall under, so I'm curious why it is not on my page as well.

Thanks for your help.

- Tara

Sandra | 31517 comments Genres are sourced from people shelving the book.

I don't know what the amount required is, but if there aren't any genres listed to the right side of the book page, then there hasn't been enough shelvings.

Authors nor librarians cannot add genres.

I added the paperback edition which I noticed wasn't added to the database.

What authors can do is to add bookshelves and shelve their books on them. F.e., Tara could create 'paranormal' and 'fantasy' bookshelves and add her book to those.
