Looking for a book like The Forbidden Game

So I read Forbidden Game when I was actually in Jr. High/High School back when it first came out. I'm hoping since then SOMETHING has been written that has similar elements. I have looked at lists created with the series and it's not really what I'm looking for.

Any books out there young adult (adult would be even better!) with a bad boy like Julian. Basically a supernatural being (preferably not a vampire) that is stalker like/possessive and wants to keep/claim his chosen. I don't want like a regular romance with a possessive male, but more like this story where the guy has chosen some woman who he wants as his and will do anything to have her. The girl needs to be resistant. Sort of a hunting/claiming scenario. Basically a plot like forbidden game in the romance department but doesn't have to be the EXACT same plot. I hope this makes sense.


Also fyi I have read LJ Smith's other books. So I guess you could say a character like Damon who wants Elena would work also. Although if you COULD avoid vampires that would be great. I"m a little sick of them. If you really think it would fit my request and it's a vampire go ahead and rec.

PS: Don't recommend Twilight. IMO that is not like FG or TVD at all. You could compare Edward to Stephan I suppose, but Edward really isn't all that dark.

I've never read The Forbidden Game, but I think this book might interest you (that if you haven't read it yet) ... It's an adult book.
