Titles/subtitles changed for annotated editions

Yes, in the second example An Annotated Edition is not considered a subtitle on Goodreads, but should be put in the edition field.
In the first example, The Annotated is part of the title and should not be removed.

The copyright pages of the Belknap Press books have ": an annotated edition" included as part of the titles, so I thought it was considered a subtitle. One of the books was brought over like that into GR by onix ingram. Other GR librarians also have been changing the title to include the info. The titles have gone back and forth a few times for some of the books.

People are changing the titles of books from those collections. I fixed at least one book by adding back the subtitle, but it has already had the subtitle removed again. Someone removed "The Annotated" from the title on two of them. After I fix the incomplete titles, should I put a librarian note about not changing the title for all twelve of those books?
