Hiya, I was wanting to know what to do about some of the duplicate ASINs. I've found a book that has two books with the same ASIN (one was entered in the ISBN field). I was going to just remove the ASIN and add a note for a duplicate, but then I noticed that the publication dates weren't the same. I've found that Amazon 'updates' their ebooks. Sometimes its just were they correct typos, grammar, etc, but sometimes the author decided to rewrite a scene or chapter. I was wanting to know whether the books that were just corrected should be merged (and if so should the date be updated or just left to the original date) or should there be multiple editions with a note and the 'updated' date? Thanks

Not any more than we would update a printed book record for a second printing. If they have different covers (or number of pages from Amazon), keep both and make one an alternate-cover edition. Otherwise, keep the original date.
One exception: if the change was made pre-publication. Since Amazon allows Kindle editions to have pre-ordering these days, that is possible.
