What have you added to your collection recently?

Still looking for Uncanny X-Men Vol 1, Chris Claremont X-Men Vol 1, and Astonishing X-Men Omnibus'. eBay prices are obscene
I enjoyed Wolverine and the X-Men. :) You ought to pick up Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar empire if you liked New X-Men. Brubaker builds on some of what happened in New X-men.
There are like five omnibus volumes coming out next week:
Wonder Woman
Powers
Avengers/X-Men Onslaught
Marvel 90s Firsts
Ultimate Marvel Firsts
The good news for me is that I'm only interested in WW and Avengers/X-Men. Bad news is I probably need to hold off to pay for a soccer tournament I want to go to.

Have been following those titles on ebay myself, so expensive, have to be patient.

Thanks B.
Yes, have to get it organized. Although always new stuff coming in, will never be done.
Now X-men Crossovers, I haven't even gotten to the X-men, LOL.

What's your next omnibus read Frank? What will you choose? :)

After I get back from vacation I will attempt one, these omnibus are way too heavy to travel with.
I have so many choices, without getting into all the marvel omni's, I could attempt Fear Agent 1& 2, East of West Vol.1, Saga Vol. 1, Watchmen Deluxe, see what I mean!
I do want to get into the Marvel cosmics, as I have most of the run now, and Captain America Ed Brubaker omni's have those 5 as well.

All very different! I'd go with Fantastic 4. Good luck!
Of the choices you mentioned Frank, Fear Agent is whole and complete without tie ins to anything else. Watchman Deluxe should be about the same. There have been some other things written later on but those are not necessary.
If you care about the broader Marvel world at all you might want to read Marvel's Civil War with the first Brubaker Captain America omnibus. Other than that I think you can read thru them pretty well. Civil War explains the conflict between Marvel's superheroes that is integral to the first couple Brubaker omnibus volumes.

Good news for me, I subtracted my Gotham Central HCs from my collection via an Ebay sale today. That will give me some money for at least one new omnibus next week and I'll replace the content with the Gotham Central omnibus next year. I basically recouped the amount I put into them which was less than cover.

Nice. I've got my spare Cap america omnibus v1 on ebay so with that i'll be rich and i'll get load of stuff :D
I just bought the Amazing Spiderman omnibus v1.

Word.
InStockTrades is having a DC sale. All DC titles 45% off cover instead of the usual 42% off. I went ahead and ordered Absolute Batman Dark Victory. I actually tried to buy this book years ago and the seller sent me a different book by mistake, the leather Frank Miller Batman book. In hindsight, I grossly overpaid. C'est La Vie.

You might be able to clean up on Ebay with that FM leather bound batman. I think its hard to find.
Goes for over $100. And good eye with that Instocktrades sale.

Not familiar with Aphrodite IX. If you get it let us know. :)
Well, I paid $100 for the Frank Miller book. Which is to much, but good to see it's gone up since last I looked it up.

Yeah I noticed (without taking the wrapping off) that the binding quality looks superior even to Marvel. Am I correct?
It even looks like it has a built in ribbon for book marking! Amaze balls.

the amazing spiderman omnibus v1 - looking for v2
the sixth gun deluxe v1 & v2 - Lono's fault
Green Lantern omnibus v2
Wonder Woman omnibus for $36 on InStockTrades. I also ordered the Onslaught omnibus. I've not read the event, I hope it isn't terrible. ;) I figured this might be my only chance to pick it up this cheaply.
Odd that Marvel released so many omnibus volumes at once. I bet that some collectors are having to delay or avoid buying some of them because there are this many this quickly.
Interestingly, despite the release of 5 new omnibus volumes Johns Green Lantern omnibus vol 2 remains the number 1 seller on IST followed by the Wonder Woman omnibus.
I hope to pick up some miscellaneous books in my next order I've been putting off.

Not sure yet since I haven't had a chance to read. While the 50% off will got away (usually in a week) I suspect the book will have a large enough print run to stay available for a while with the movie coming out. Obviously just a guess on my part but if you are unsure about it I'm sure we'll see some reviews in the next week or two.

I made a deal today to trade my Ultimates and Ultimate Avengers omnibus (plus a couple other books I was done with) for the two Secret Wars omnibus volumes. I feel like we both got something we wanted and the market values weren't to far off of each other. Looking forward to reading these events. And it features classic Cap, much superior to Ultimate Cap. :)

Just got in from IST:
Marvel Firsts: 1990's Omnibus
Ultimate Marvel Omnibus Vol. 1
X-Men Avengers Onslaught Omnibus (picked it up, from the discussions of everyone, even though I do not have any X-Men)
Deadpool by Joe Kelly Omnibus (figure with the movie coming)
At Earth's Core HC
Cool, you'll have to let me know what you think about At the Earth's Core. I read the book years ago.

By the way I tried your quiz, but totally (suck), LOL. Don't know if you ever got it.
Emailed bounced back.

Are you referring to the Hickman's? Not sure, I know you can't get Vol. 1 on IST, and Amazon $225 (paid about $60), wow. Never paid attention, thank all of you for telling me to buy these two.

Very glad you got in on those. One of the best FF4 runs I've read. Certainly the best in modern times. :)
I never bought the Lee FF4 omnibus volumes. I have the first 13 Masterworks that covers the whole Lee/Kirby run. I feel like it's one of the better silver age runs. They really do deal with some deep philosophical things on occasion. It's a different style of writing that modern stuff but I enjoyed it.

Looks like I got the lowest score on the Ultimate comic knowledge quiz. However, there are several questions on review that did not record the answer I clicked on, for instance I know I clicked on Doomsday as the answer for who has killed Superman but it says I clicked on Elijah Snow? Weird. I also know Luke Cage is Power Man but is says I picked a different name. Even correcting for those I'm still on the lower end. I didn't read several of the books needed to answer the questions though, 100 Bullets, Top Ten, Invincible, Alex+Ada, and the DC Forever Evil event. I didn't understand the "Who is your Daddy?" question?

Who is your daddy is a joke. Batman is the daddy because he's awesome and always wins.
Luke cages really name is not power man. It's Carl Lucas.

I got tripped up by the Luke Cage question too. I've never been too fond of the character or read much about him so I had to do some research afterwards to look up the answer.
I think I'm going to be able to make a purchase this week. I'm going to get the Johns GL V2 and try to take advantage of the sale. Wondering if I should make another DC HC purchase, wait a week then purchase something else to get that extra 2%. I'm just not sure the sale will last that long.

LOL! That explains it. Remember to use some vita rays after ingestion for best results. :p
Oh, and the Captain America Shield questions answer was wrong, it's made of a Vibranium/Adamantium mix. I bet that has been re-written to separate the Fox/Marvel Studios split with those metals.
Blindzider, I just started reading vol 2 of John's Green Lantern omnibus. I'm about 80 pages in and I've read all the material so far and I know I've read Darkest Night (which I thought was pretty decent).
I do want to pick up the Swamp Thing and Green Arrow deluxe volumes in Sept.

Avengers/X-Men Onslaught Omnibus
Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 Omnibus
Now if Marvel reprints ASM Vol 2 and releases ASM Vol 3, I'll be a happy spidey fan.
Couple of nice pick ups. We'll see about the re-prints. It's tough to predict what Marvel will do with those. Perhaps for the new Spider-Man film will see ASM 3 or 2 reprinted.
Finally received:
GJ GL V2
Wonder Woman by Perez
Absolute Dark Victory
Probably nothing else until the SHIELD Omnibus next month.

It must be pretty exciting for all of you with so much undiscovered stuff from the different universes remaining.
Once everyone has read them all I'm curious what people think about the major X-Men crossovers (Fatal Attractions, Phalanx Covenant, etc.)
