Paper Girls DLX came out a week earlier than expected! Picked that up, plus Abe Sapien HC and some other things I was way behind on getting (XO-Manowar DLX 5, Deadly Class, and Tokyo Ghost).

Well I’ll be damned. You can’t find t because it’s already sold out. I’m sure they will be getting more. https://www.instocktrades.com/TP/Koda...
Bought the Batman and Robin by Gleason and Tomasi Omnibus. Would still like to get the Justice League International Omnibus but I read there were some printing problems.
I am almost exclusive IST shopper, but I got the AKIRA boxset through Barnes N Noble for 33% less than the IST price today and it arrived in great shape (packing photos up earlier in the thread). May be a decent option for some of you and almost certainly better than Amazon or eBay.
Just ordered Uncanny X-men Omnibus vol. 1 :D Akira has to wait... I hope it won't get out of stock but the IST price is crazy... they want 80 dolars shipping.... :/ so i need to really think it over some more, if i will get Akira Box Set or not... 80 dolars shipping is just too much... :/ I was expecting something like 35 or something... But 80.... :/

Were I going to buy it here in the states I would order from Amazon or Barnes and Nobles as they are cheaper. It might be worth looking at some other sites to see if they have better prices for you. Folks in the states seem to be having good luck getting sets from them in good condition.
I think I'm going to order Paper Girls as a gift.
I'm a little torn on the Batman and Robin omnibus. I bought all the standard size HCs already and they are right next to Snyder's run in the same size.
Interesting and a bit surprising to see Bendis leaving Marvel for an exclusive deal with DC. I haven't loved some of his recent work but his DD, Alias, and New Avengers runs were all something I enjoyed. Not sure what if anything this will do to our chances of getting Bendis DD omnibus reprints or other books from Marvel he wrote in OHC/omnibus. I was hoping to see his Iron Man run (with some Maleev art) get some sort of print in oversize format.

I only ordered the B&R omni from IST yesterday. I wanted to snag the Akira boxset but I am lacking the funds for it.
It is the time of year where Goodreads votes for the best books of the year broken down into particular categories. They have a graphic novel section this year. I haven't read many of the options. I voted for Black Hammer.

Hmm. Of the nominees, I've only read the Vision, but Volume 1, not two, and Wonder Woman, and Saga but not the specific volume. I really need to branch out more.

It's an interesting dynamic because the big three tend to not get as much representation in these votes for some reason. My real number one pick for a new series would probably be God Country were that an option.

Extremity and Redneck were fantastic first volumes from Image this year. God Country was solid. Could be that the Big Two just can’t compete with the unique titles coming from the Little Two.
fuck me tha Akira collection is heavy. I stupidly got it delicvered to work. Now i have to find a way of carrying it home for an hour!
I tried to warn you!! It’s a hell of a box right, I imagine the marvel box sets are much thinner cardboard?
Looks like old news with all the people getting them Akira boxset, but...GOT MY THOR WALT SIMONSON OMNIBUS!!!yeahhhhThat thing is huge / thick!
Nerd question: the AKIRA boxset has a paper ad taped on one side, are people leaving that on? Seems like it’s the first thing to get beat up and if possible I’d take it for and store it in the box but worried the tape will ripe the side and my usual OCD will make an issue worse... thoughts?

There's no residue from the stickers if you remove them carefully. However you won't find room for the paper inside the box without folding it, its just too wide. I threw it away.

For those it has the barcode and other info. I keep them but not attached. I just fold it up and put it inside the book.
A few books arrived: Abe Sapien has a beautiful spine, Deadly Class and Tokyo Ghost are predictably lovely, Paper Girls is predictably thing (in your the difference between a Remender deluxe and a Vaughn deluxe), but maybe most of note...X-O Manowar DLX Vol. 5 because Valiant has switched its binding apparently to a really nice sewn one where the pages open with almost no gutter loss. It’s still tight so it doesn’t stay open, but huge improvement!!

I got that months ago but i won't get round to reading it for a long time.
I'm still waiting on my Abe.
Howdy fellas. I’ve just got B&R omnibus, Paper Girls DLX, and Batman Hush DLX coming this week. Then I’ve got Batman / The Shadow HC, maybe Batman Year Two DLX, Descender DLX, Trillium DLX, and Outcast DLX for next month.
Blindzider wrote: "That B&R omnibus was a lot bigger than I was expecting."I was surprised they didn't split it. Around 50 issues seemed large for an omnibus.
The new books I am interested in for the rest of the year are: Black Science OHC 2, Descender OHC 1, I Hate Fairyland OHC 1, Captain America omnibus by Waid and Garney, Thor (Lady) OHC by Aaron vol 2, Don Rosa Uncle Scrooge box set vol 7 and 8, and Prince Valiant box set vol 1 thru 3.
I'm behind on released books I want to pick up though. Absolute World's Greatest, World War Hulk Omnibus, Spider-Man Clone Saga 2, and Batman Knightfall 2 are a few of the recent releases.
Did anyone read Ether by Kindt with art by David Rubin? It sounds good and the first TPB has been released.
In other news, Bottleneck Gallery has a Rogue One print available only yesterday and today that is pretty cool. https://bottleneckgallery.com/collect...

I think the only things left for me this year are black science and the Waid/Garney Captain America. Still can't decide on the XMen Classic omnibus or the Justice league international because of the printing errors.

Did you check out Descender? The first arc is probably my favorite thing by Lemire.

I passed on JLI Omni because of the priting errors too btw. And it seems i will pass on X-Men Classic too, if it really has printing error...
I was scared that X-Men Classic had a priting error... I'm so releaved now that i learned that that is not true. :D
This book looks interesting and the art looks great. I wonder if it will just be a short mini-series or if will be ongoing for a bit?

Won an eBay auction for an old Astro City HC but haven't seen any indication that it has or will be shipped. So tired of these people that don't follow through with the sale..
