Nickviola | 1019 comments Cool! Found you!

message 3202: by Rob (new)

Rob Pettinato (givexitxaxgo) | 30 comments I ordered the World War Hulk omnibus today. I plan on ordering the Simonson Thor omni soon.

message 3203: by gxvault (new)

gxvault | 132 comments Thanks!!

message 3204: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments @Paul Harley and Ivy looks like a more adult BAS as far as slightly mature content and their “relationship” goes. I’m sure I’ll be happy with it.

FYI Luthor Strode didn’t drop today on IST. Amazon has 10/17 so probably 10/10 for IST.

message 3205: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments Wasn't going to but World War Hulk and Luther Strode!!!

message 3206: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
All this talk of Luther Strode and now I'm going to have to look into this...

message 3207: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments It's such over the top violent fun!

message 3208: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments It looks pretty great. Gonna be a blind buy for me. Just bought Bronze Age Swamp Thing and Dark Knight Master Race last night in the mean time.

message 3209: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Wetterich | 2 comments Picked up Planet Hulk and Uncanny X-men vol3 recently. Really excited to five into those.

message 3210: by Nickviola (new)

Nickviola | 1019 comments Uncanny x-men is the best. I am struggling with the wait for Vol. 4. Enjoy Volume 3!!

message 3211: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments Added Absolute Court of Owls today. Up to 4 absolutes with Justice League Origins on its way.

message 3212: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
I guess you like the format? :)
What other ones do you want to get?

message 3213: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments Right now I'd like to get Loeb's Batman absolutes. 4 or 5 i think. Batman Incorporated and Year One.

message 3214: by Firestorm (new)

Firestorm | 72 comments Got a MMW today. It somehow folded in the middle during shipping. Like it curves in. If I stack a bunch of other MMWs on it, will it go back to normal?

message 3215: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Well a deluxe I’m buying OVER an absolute soon is Batman Hush. Just can’t afford the absolutes. But I respect your commitment!

message 3216: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments Hush is one I almost got for $60 the other day but I just missed on EBay. I try to be smart. I think I paid $50 For almost all the ones I have. That's why the Loeb Batmans are a wish. They are all between $75 and $100.

message 3217: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments For sure. With IST I’ll get Hush for $25 when it comes out. Haven’t seen many Absolutes for much cheaper. Except Superman For Tomorrow.

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
Firestorm, you might improve it but I'm not sure it will ever be right. Once the cardboard bends it weakens a little but I'm not an expert. I guess it's how much is too much for you. Can't return it?

I ordered LOW and Shang-Chi vol 4 variant cover. I'll probably order World War Hulk and maybe Heroes Reborn Thor 1 from this week too.

Going for 1 month of just eating boiled potatoes? :)

I also want the Rebirth WW OHC... The good news is that I already have the Simonson Thor from when it first came out and I elected to not pick up EITHER cover of the Muppet Babies omnibus. :D

message 3222: by Nickviola (new)

Nickviola | 1019 comments Ha, somewhere out there is a Muppet Babies obsessed guy in his 30's who just HAD to have both covers of the omnibus. If that man happens to be reading this, please post a picture of your collection, I'm fascinated to see what else you have.

message 3223: by Ozan (new)

Ozan (dotanuki) | 222 comments My Ennis Punisher Omni is on its way. :D I also preordered Simonson Thor Omni. :) I think i will get JLI Omni next but not 100% sure cause there is an Akira HC box set coming, i really want that. I don't know if i can get both Akira and JLI in a month so i may have to put JLI on hold for a while.

message 3224: by gxvault (new)

gxvault | 132 comments I guess I'll get the akira HC BOX too :) my omni ennis arrived too!

message 3225: by Firestorm (new)

Firestorm | 72 comments Had a really hard time finding it. MMW Iron Man 2. Waited years for a good deal and then it looks like Gravitron experimented with it.

message 3226: by Ozan (new)

Ozan (dotanuki) | 222 comments just ordered Batman Rebirth Deluxe HC vol. 1 :D

message 3227: by Relstuart, Mod+ (new)

Relstuart | 2964 comments Mod
Nice. :)

Will reading the Justice League Darseid War Saga omnibus be helpful for reading the Rebirth titles at all? I read a Superman OHC (Action Comics) and there had clearly been some big events I didn't know anything about starting at the beginning of Rebirth.

message 3228: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments My limited understanding of Rebirth is that it ties into New 52 continuity. That was the case with Tomasi’s Superman. Batman not so much.

message 3229: by Ozan (new)

Ozan (dotanuki) | 222 comments As fas as i know, you need to read Convergence, Superman Lois and Clark, The Darkseid War and DC Universe Rebirth One Shot before reading Rebirth Superman. And you just need to read DC Universe Rebirth One Shot for Batman. Rebirth kind of brings back some of the countinuity before the new 52 and mix it with the new 52 but how much of the old countinuity it brings back, i don't know.

message 3230: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Thanks. That’s good to know.

message 3231: by Nickviola (new)

Nickviola | 1019 comments After deciding to really just focus on new prints and not eBay.... I found a really clean copy of Astonishing X-Men for 130 and pulled the trigger... because I have a problem.

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
Lol.

message 3233: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Nice. I’ve been doing a bit of eBay, LBS, and IST but I’m also running low on funds. Got Batman Earth One Vol 1 HC, BYO DLX HC, and Damian Son of Batman DLX HC on eBay for cheap.

message 3234: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
After they release Batman earth one v3 I hope they do an absolute.

message 3235: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments I would buy that. I’m a big fan of Bats Earth One.

Just received my latest package from IST. This time, it was shipped FedEx (instead of UPS) and it had packing peanuts instead of the shaped foam inserts. The books were shrink wrapped but not wrapped in a bag like they usually are.

I hope this was a one time thing, because I prefer the other packaging, although I could never understand how they could afford to do that with every package.

Mad Tom wrote: "I would buy that. I’m a big fan of Bats Earth One."

I was very resistant to the first one, but V2 got me on board quickly. V3 got delayed because of Doomsday Clock but at least we know it is coming out eventually.

message 3238: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Oh nice. I didn’t know it was actually forthcoming. That’s great!

My IST always comes USPS with the shaped foam and I’m glad they do it that way. It should be the standard comic packaging.

Ozan (dotanuki) | 222 comments I like Batman Earth One too. The first volume has its flaws but i really liked the new villain The Birthday Boy lol If you read the second volume, you know that -------spoiler------- the third volume's villain will be Catwoman. :D I'm really hyped about that, i'm a Batman&Catwoman shipper. :D The second volume's villain Riddler was ok too but i believe Snyder made a better job at making The Riddler kind of cool by Zero Year books. I wonder if they will ever bring Earth One Superman and Batman together ? Since Earth One Batman is a more ''realistic'' take, Superman would be a party pooper but once Geoff Johns complete his run, i can see that the new creative team take Earth One Batman to more sci-fi and fantastic places but i enjoy Geoff Johns's attempt of realism so i don't want to see Superman in his run. J. Michael's Earth One Superman was not very good btw.... I liked his Spider-Man run and Super Powers book at Marvel so i got Earth One Superman but i must say, i'm disappointed...

message 3240: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments I wasn’t a fan of Supes Earth One at all. JMS is low on my list of writers.

message 3241: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
I agree the Superman earth one was terrible.

message 3242: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments i like JMS but his Superman Earth 1 took awhile to get going. Volume 3 was really good though.

My packaging from IST varies. It's more common for larger than omnibus books to come in the peanut filled packages for me.

It looks like IST is going to extend their release week prices on omnibus volumes for two weeks now per the banner on their site. That could be helpful. Especially since they have so many book coming out at once from several publishers. The omnibus volumes from last week are still 50% off but the Wonder Woman OHC is not.

Looks like the Hellboy in Hell Library Edition is out today. Along with Absolute Authority vol 1, Justice League International omnibus vol 1, Justice League Darkseid War omnibus, Batman/Flash The Button DLX, Seven To Eternity TPB vol 2, and Marvel Masterworks Thor vol 16.

That'll be nice if they keep the two week thing going. I need to decide on JLI omnibus. Always heard it was funny but don't really know many of the characters, and I've spent so much money already this month...

message 3246: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments That’s awesome. Wish they would do two weeks for OHC too.

Well I got three eBay HCs via USPS today. Two were delivered to my porch, one was stupidly smashed into my mailbox. Guess which one I hadn’t read yet. How does USPS handle this sort of thing?

message 3247: by Nickviola (new)

Nickviola | 1019 comments Hellboy Library Edition 5 & 6 arrived, both big and beautiful. Also, Simonson’s Thor!!

Most importantly...HUGE shout out to Christopher who tracked me down a copy of Bloodshot Deluxe 1 (for cover price) which was one of my whales!! Thanks, Man. My Deluxe Valiant collection is now fully complete!!

message 3248: by gxvault (new)

gxvault | 132 comments Wow nick congratulations on that (bloodshot) !!

message 3249: by J (new)

J | 531 comments Received my Swamp Thing Bronze Age Omnibus this morning from IST. It's very nice from what I can see so far. I'm liking these DC Omnibi recently.

I'm a bit disappointed that the book does not contain Swampy's appearances in the mid-70s Challengers of the Unknown series. Nor the team-ups with Batman and Superman.

Anyone else here collect European comics? I have been getting the new volumes of Corto Matese as they come out, as well as a few other interesting books that are historical/political in nature.

message 3250: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Glad to hear about Swamp Thing. Mine should be here next week.
