What have you added to your collection recently?
Just preordered -Thor by Walt Simonson Omnibus- :D This is my second preorder waiting to be released and shipped to me after Punisher by Garth Ennis Omnibus.
Not much left for Punisher by Ennis to be released, i'm really excited. :D
Whew, that's a list Paul!Forgot I'm getting these this month, too:
Dark Knight Master Race HC
Swamp Thing Bronze Age Omnibus
Batman Year One DLX
Been waiting forever for a BYO DLX reprint. Quickly adding to my HC/DLX Batman collection this year!
I was tempted to get my first DC book with Batman YO or go in blind to Darth Vader or Planet Hulk, but ended up just getting:Punisher (Ennis) Omni and Sixth Gun DLX Vol. 2 (vol. 1 arrived yesterday and I can already tell Im going to want to read it all).
Next: Mighty Thor 3 and End League later this month

Yes I'm looking forward to that Year One Deluxe...can't justify the Absolute!
It is a long list but I've sold off around 6 omnibus and 10 or so other books I was never going to read again...it funds a lot of it. I only keep the books I love or ones I've yet to read. I've been planning for months how to budget all these new books!
Paul I know what you mean... I'm trying and getting my budget on track, mostly because of the changes on amazon.uk (less sellers selling to Portugal at normal and logic shipping costs).Oh well my statue collection needs to grow too :)
I'd be interested in a Lobo omnibus. Classic of course.
Ordered planet hulk omnibus and Batman year one.

Recent purchases for me:Sixth Gun Deluxe 4
Death Defying Doctor Mirage
Punisher Omnibus by Ennis
Criminal Deluxe vol. 2
Bone Full Color HC
I read through Sixth Gun in one day, love the series. Bone is an upgrade from the black and white paperback. I lucked out on eBay and got it for a steal.
And my September looks like this:Ninjak DLX
X-O Manowar DLX vol. 1
Punisher Ennis Omnibus
Planet Hulk Omnibus
Fables DLX 6-9 (getting to 15 this year hopefully)
Batman Year One DLX
Wicket & Divine DLX vol 1
BPRD Plague of the frogs Vol 1
Marvel Zomnibus (had all the small ones, traded them and some bucks for the omnibus )
and Curse of the Spawn HC 1-2 (German editions, they collect all 29 issues, since there is no English edition as far as I know)
Completely over the top, but I need to know more about that Valiant stuff, and the rest is like mandatory for me.
I assume you like Fables since you are continuing to read them? I've never read them but been curious.
Yes, I'm a fan and will be going all the way. Not so much for the spin off Jack of Fables. It is well written and all, but Jack is so much out of grasp for me, being a cunning but in the long run useless conman. Bigby and Snow White though, love them. Also the twists are emotionally wrecking and you really root for some of those characters.
Ordered MMW Two-In-One V2, Locke and Key Deluxe V2 and V3.
IST also has a loyalty discount for one week with 4% off.

I am addicted to the Sixth Gun, it is already in my top couple favorite series of all time. I have read the first 3 Deluxes in a week and they are really well put together books. I am holding off on order Volume 4 just to string out the story a bit longer before the long wait for Volume 5.
Over the past few weeks I have picked up Daredevil by Brubaker vol 1 omnibus, Captain America Return of the Winter Soldier omnibus, Alias vol 1 OHC, Black Beetle Kara Bocek, and the Incognito OHC (since it is back in stock on IST).I will probably pick up the Vader omni once I have some more money. I definitely need to take advantage of the IST 4% loyalty discount.

Oh crap, I forgot about Incognito. I wonder if I should get the current version or wait for the Image version?

That's exactly what I'm doing.

Blindzider wrote: Oh crap, I forgot about Incognito. I wonder if I should get the current version or wait for the Image version? From what I hear, a TON of copies of the Criminal and Incognito hardcovers were found in a warehouse and wound up on IST and Amazon. I believe IST has a decent amount of stock. If this is true, I am not sure there will be a reprint in the near future. That being said, the Incognito hardcover is great to look at, but I feel like we could see a higher quality print from Image.
Staying on the Criminal and Incognito OHC issue, Amazon is showing the release date as 12th September2017 for all of them but it looks like they do not have any in stock and stock will arrive on 18-19th September. What happened? Have they already ran out of stock or has the reprinting date has been shifted by a week by Image? Am I missing something here?

It's unclear what is going on here. It's odd that we're hearing that a stash of these were sitting in a warehouse somewhere as the prices on them rose pretty high and no one was selling them.

If I remember correctly, it came one day with Jan 2018 publishing date then suddenly it shifted to Sep 2017. Now, they are selling this lost and found story?! I guess it was too good to be true after all.
Sorry - I realize no one is sure whats going on, but is this is fair summary - Incognito and Criminal have been out of print for a while and were originally ICON (Marvel). Image bought the rights and was planning to reprint, but now a bunch of the ICON copies are suddenly available again and no one can find evidence of Image reprints on the way?Assuming that is true, is the quality of the ICON editions poor? I am deciding if I should jump on this or since I have waited so long just keep waiting.
I have the Incogneto HC and it seems to be put together reasonably well. I don't see myself needing a different copy for any reason.
My complaint, as I read Criminal Deluxe Vol 1 thru the library, is it's glued binding and the paper was pretty thin, as I recall. I couldn't justify "deluxe prices" unless it was in fact deluxe.
I have icon too. Great binding. Mine was signed and has a drawing inside by s Phillips. Never selling it.
Re: Sixth Gun options - seems like (a) the gunslinger edition Vol 1 is actually different than volumes 2-4 because it's in a larger case that opens like a box and is not a slipcase while 2-4 are just slipcases. (b) the actual books are the same size as the deluxe editions. (c) instead of the heroes on the spine they put the villains.Questions:
1. Is that all true?
2. If so, re: (c) - that's dumb. re: (a) also dumb that then they can't match up on a shelf because Vol 1 is bigger and doesn't show the spine.
Mad Tom wrote: "That's cool, Cheese. Is it glued or sewn though?"I can't recall, i think it may be sewn.

I did most of the same research you did, when I was trying to decide which ones to get and yes, a) is what I determined also. I did not go with the Gunslinger editions primarily because of the size difference between V1 and the others. For me, the additional cost vs. the extras wasn't worth it either, BUT, I think you like it a lot more than I do, so that's all personal preference to weigh that value.
I will say that the regular deluxe editions are very nice, larger than most OHCs, nice paper, binding etc.

Yeah I already have Deluxe 1-3 and can't complain about any part of the quality of the book, along with Fear Agent it's one of my favorite oversized books to look at. I like the spines and size matching more than having a slipcase so I'll stay out with my set. Thanks!Next decision is when to pull the trigger on Incognito and Criminal - maybe the 26th when I get Thor 3 but that makes this a much more expensive month than planned but don't have a lot I'm waiting for next month.
I received Criminal Vol 1 in the mail from Amazon; the sent me the version published by Icon, not Image. What's more they put a sticker over the old ISBN with the new ISBN from the Image version. Also a different cover. I'm asking for replacement, hoping for the Image version. This copy is not bad but it's glued not sewn with minimal gutter loss. I'd much rather have the Image one to match my growing Image deluxe editions.
Do anyone have a link to anywhere selling the Image reprint at discount? Are the covers switched? I can only find the Marvel versions based on whose publishing. Sorry if I'm the only one still confused.
That sucks and I was wondering what the "new" editions would look like. The Icon volume I checked out from the library was a glued binding.
I bought Criminal Deluxe vol. 2 from IST with the new release. It's also the Icon printing. I think that's all you're going to get at this point. If there is a different Image printing it has yet to see a release from what I can tell. I haven't seen any pictures or indications that there is a different version, but who knows, maybe once the Icon stock is gone Image will put something out there.
We should see Remender's The End League Library Edition drop tomorrow.
We'll ought to also see Batman the Master Race standard size HC along with Harley Quinn: A celebration of 25 years.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IDW Collection HC vol 5.
Looks like the Prince Valiant Studio Edition (Artist Edition) should also be released tomorrow.
A bit of a quieter week. :)
