Ozan (dotanuki) | 222 comments my latest haul is mostly manga, i just grabed Wonder Woman by George Perez vol. 2 Omnibus as comics.

I have, usually when it turns out cheaper to buy in bulk from them rather then anamzon or bookdepository.

Any issues with customs? Which shipment type do you usually ask for? (i live in Portugal)

No i get them just as cheap if not cheaper from Speedyhen.com.

Thanks for the site... will check it. I usually buy from Amazon UK or FR, Bookdepository, cheap-comics.com or eBay...

message 2757: by Ooh_jim (new)

Ooh_jim | 251 comments Whenever I've checked out IST, the shipping costs to the UK are so big that the total cost was only marginally lower than buying domestically (and that was before the post referendum pound slump); I was better paying an extra £5 or whatever for a much quicker shipping time and no surprise custom fines.

We need a website this side of the pond to adopt their somehow sustainable buisness model.

I just go for the cheapest shipping, usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. If I was to order 3 omnis from bookdepository for €70 each or order three from ist $55 each even including shipping it's cheaper.

message 2759: by Reece (new)

Reece (mrrallentando) | 309 comments I leaned a lesson today: you get what you pay for.

The Aliens 30th Anniversary HC offered for $10 from Loot Crate came today. The normal version is the size of a dark horse library edition. Take a look at this bullshit...

message 2760: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Wow that's small. Is that standard HC then?

message 2761: by Reece (new)

Reece (mrrallentando) | 309 comments It's a couple inches shorter than a standard tpb. Not even as tall as a digest sized paperback.

On the plus side I'm not really out much money and I can try out the series before spending more on it.

So you got Alien HC Baby Edition. :)

Regarding my latest acquisitions:
- Daredevil Omnibus by Mark Waid
- Daredevil Omnibus by Ed Brubaker & Michael Lark Volume 1 & 2
- Sandman Omnibus Volume 1 & 2
- Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Volume 3 (Variant Cover)

And that's all folks!

Reece (mrrallentando) | 309 comments I just dropped into a random comic shop I'd never been to and found Rai Deluxe Edition in shrinkwrap for cover price. Went ahead and grabbed that without hesitation.

Are you reading Sandman for the first time? I read through it in paperback previously but now I'm starting over in Absolute format. I think it's my first series to reread, but it deserves it.

Ordered Irredeemable Premiere V4 and Saga Deluxe V2.

message 2772: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Nice. Saga V2 is awesome. Just ordered AD After Death HC, The Filth Deluxe HC, and Batman Doug Moench HC Vol 1 for myself. Pretty psyched : )

I'll look at making an order Friday. Probably going to be Irredeemable vol 4 and the Last Man Absolute. I am curious about the Superman DLX too though.

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
MT, let me know about the filth. I didn't know there was a deluxe.

message 2775: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments Yeah and it's going out of print soon probably. Paperback is kinda cheap for such a thick book. If you like zany Morrison it's a safe blind buy.

message 2776: by The Lion's Share (last edited Jun 28, 2017 12:33AM) (new)

The Lion's Share i'm a bit skint at the moment so i've calmed my buying right down.

I've just ordered
- Vinland Saga V1
- Irredeemable premier v4

Vinland saga is great, I found the first volume ok but after that it gets better and better. Definetly give it 2 volumes before deciding to continue or not.

Scott Snyder on Twitter stated DC was working on some sort of omnibus collection for American Vampire towards the end of the year. So, we may get a solicit at the end of the year for 2018 release. I've yet to check that series out but in the main any comments I have heard from readers have been positive.

message 2780: by Donovan (new)

Donovan | 1154 comments That's fantastic. Been wanting to read that series for years but some volumes are out of print.

message 2786: by Reece (new)

Reece (mrrallentando) | 309 comments I've had the first deluxe of American Vampire sitting on my shelf unread for a couple years. I bought it because I heard good things but for some reason it just hasn't called to me.

Fluffyroundabout wrote: "Where do I go from the Geoff johns green lantern omnis?"

Are you hoping to stick with Johns or wanting to stick with Green Lantern? There is the Brightest Day omnibus (well known for not having great biding, I bought the three standard size HCs instead). The omnibus is probably fairly inexpensive.

I hope there is a good Green Lantern Rebirth DLX that comes out later this year.

I have not read Johns' JSA or Teen Titans. I have read his Flash and Hawkman. They were both enjoyable but not on the same level IMHO as his Green Lantern. He also wrote The Avengers for a while right before Bendis took over.

O sorry for not stating clearly what I was asking guys. Where do I go for green lantern after Geoff johns run, what's next in chronological order?

Read the first few pages and it should hook you. It's quite graphic.

Nickviola | 1019 comments Been needing HC Plague of Frogs Vol. 4 for a while to complete the set and finally found a new copy for under 80 and pulled the trigger. Not saying it was a steal, but feel happy to have one less (kinda) whale to look for!

Also, ordered my first Artist Edition! Kirby's Fantastic Four World's Greatest which has FF issues 33, 45, 47, 60 plus a covers gallery and most importantly is on the same DOUBLE SIZED pages that he used to draw on! It's retailing 150 but it just sounds too awesome to resist.

message 2797: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Saylor | 58 comments I got the Star Wars vol. 2 OHC and the big Black Science vol.1. That book is beautiful.

I also picked up volume 1 if the GI Joe Complete Collection from IDW, which covers the Marvel stuff that started in the early '80s.. Debating on whether to get any more of the volumes.

Nickviola | 1019 comments Just grabbed Hickman's Avengers and Dr. Strange Omnibi.

If anyone is even remotely on the fence for the Avengers Omni, I strongly recommend picking it up because Hickman books skyrocket in the second hand market.
