I got a package I wasn't able to pick up from the apartment office until this morning. The Image HC of Lemire's Plutona is standard size (HC version of the TPB) and very austere in style with just a black cover with the company and title on the spine and a one white symbol on the front cover.

The only thing I know of that comes out today I am interesting in in Lemire's Underwater Welder HC. Plutona has some positive and some negative reviews but Underwater Welder sounds like it has better press.

The Spider-Man by Todd McFarlane omnibus is being released today on IST/comic Book Stores. Just under 500 pages for under $40. Not a bad price really.

I need some Spiderman recommendations.

I've only read spiderman Blue and really enjoyed it.

I hated Ultimate Spiderman, what a pile of shit.

I've got the STan lee volume 1 but haven't read it yet.

Superior Spiderman was decent. Started great, ended a bit soft but all in all not bad.

The McFarlane Spider-Man series is a little darker, at least initially. However, McFarlane is not a very good writer. His Spider-Man is fantastic though. I seem to recall him only writing 20ish issues then some other people came on. It's been awhile but I don't recall anything really noteworthy.

I personally like Lee's Amazing Spider-Man V2 Omnibus.

I would also recommend J.M.S on Amazing Spider-Man. Toward the end he did some really controversial stuff I didn't care for, but those early volume were outstanding. He doesn't have an Omnibus but there are 5 "Best of Spider-Man" OHCs then a couple more like "Back in Black" and "The Other". There's a Spider-Man thread list here that might have a few more.

Along with Superior Spider-Man the Spider-Verse event was pretty good and definitely "darker". Kraven's Last Hunt also falls into that category.

Yeah, I found it used on Amazon...it was a little pricey but the book is actually in good condition. I'm very happy with it because as I say some time ago I really want to complete all Hickman stuff in Marvel.

Over the weekend I found a HC copy of Blankets at a used book store for half price. I'd heard good things about it and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend it if you haven't read it, although if you're a Christian it may push some buttons for you.

It's a regular HC, that's at the same size with single issues.

I just placed my order for Superior Spider-Man OHC vol 1, 2 & 3. Can't wait to catch up on my spidey stories. I also have Avengers by Busiek and Perez Omnibus vol 1 & 2 being delivered. It'll be a fun few weeks of reading for me.

I've got it but I haven't opened it yet. I can tell though that the bind is flat like all DC omnibuses so it will no doubt be a bit stiff.
