Does anyone know which DC logo will be on the spine if I order Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Omni Vol 2 from Target? My Volume 1 has the round DC logo, and I’m trying to make sure they line up if possible. Some versions of the book have the different blue and white logo, but I’m not sure if those are older or newer.

Erik, I haven't noticed yet. Last omnibus I preordered as the Savage Conan omnibus and I've done the variants for all of those so I feel pretty locked in to that by this point. Most of those I prefer the classic covers over the newer art. I remember struggling over which cover to pick for the New Mutants Omnibus volume 2 as I didn't feel like one was clearly better than the other.

I too prefer classic (done the same for savage conaan). You’ll see them coming down the pipeline. Been noticing on near mint conditions upcoming Omni segments and the last couple of DCBS preorders.

Looks like the hollowing out of ToW is in progress. Their menu system has been cut down considerably and you only have 4 pages of well-down-the-road upcoming omnis (at least Marvel). It appears though they're still charging only when shipped at least, which was my initial draw to them.

Has anyone gotten any further emails from them or IST/DCBS about their current consolidation plans?

Yes! I always prefer the DM because usually its the original cover, which is my thing. But the four Hickman omnis, some of the alien omnis, Thor by Aaron, and others - yeah I ordered the standard edition. I'm not concerned about after sale value so I have learned to go with the cover I like the most, not what is more rare / worth more.

For "classic" books, I usually get the classic cover, even when they don't always pick the best cover.

For newer books, I don't necessarily go for the DM cover and will just pick one that I like the most. Don't really choose based on possible sale value.

Can anyone give me spoiler free commentary on Hickman's X-Men Inferno?

It's my understanding it sets up the next phase of the X-Men stories. I'm curious how good it is and worth picking up the OHC. I figure it'll be a nice bookend to HoX/PoX and the Hickman X-Men omnibus, but if it's "meh" I'll pass.

I thought about The Thing omni but didn't add it. I'm skipping the Black Panther omni.

Not much grabbed my interest. I ordered the Infinite Frontier, Batman: The Detective, and Batman: The Imposter HCs, a couple trade pbks, and a Captain America Epic collection. Also grabbed a handful of DC kids graphic novels which I weirdly enjoy reading.

Overall though a slight month for me, about half of what I normally order. Just in time for the holidays.

I look through DC and Marvel, then IDW/Image/Dark Horse if I know there is something coming out that I want, then in the "other" category I look up the Archie and Fantagraphics offerings. Then I scroll through the rest of the "other" which is where I found all those DC kids books this month for like $4 each.

Probably 99% of what I buy is from the Big Two. The last DH series I bought was their Conan books and nothing really tempts me at Image these days. Fantagraphics is where I get the Prince Valiant reprint books and IDW sometimes has comic strip books like Steve Canyon. I also may grab European books from Fantagraphics. I'm kinda wanting to get into the PS Artbook editions of classic comics, but they're pretty pricey and not discounted all that much so haven't yet.

I think it's great that there are a lot of "indie" comics out there these days but to be perfectly honest I'm primarily a super-hero guy and that's what I like to read. I read Saga for a while then got bored, and have tried other Image books but generally aren't interested in what they have to offer.

I'm the same as Joseph except that 95% of what I order is Marvel, 4% is DC, and maybe 1% Indie. I always look at Marvel and DC, then Image and Dark Horse if I know there's something I want. Never look at anything else.

I like indie stuff, but it needs to get a lot of praise before I'm willing to buy it, unless I can try it out at the library first. I've already got a pile of stuff that needs to be sold and is just taking up space.

Just received the Complete American Gods. Bought mainly for its presentation, it's so beautifully designed. Read the novel once, it's good but not great, not really my type. Will try the graphic novel later.
