Just got Immortal Iron Fist Omnibus and Volume 3 of Morrison's Batman today. Pretty excited to add both to the collection!

I wouldn’t mind having that Iron First Omnibus. The one by Brubaker right?
Where did you order the Batman Omnibus? Was it on IST and sold out? Curious that another vendor had it first because I thought IST was one of DCs distributors.

I didn't get on IST yesterday afternoon due to business at work. Made an order this morning. Everything I saw indicated the Spectre omnibus was supposed to be available on IST yesterday. They did actually update their release schedule and move some things to next week but left the Spectre listed for this week. It's likely their initial run of copies sold out.
I ordered the Steranko book and the Unkillables HC this morning.

I read Brubaker's newest book Pulp last night. I expected it would be ok but I loved it. It's still very fresh on my mind so recency bias is probably impacting me but, I feel like it ranks up there with my favorite things from him despite how short it is.
Oh really? I was thinking about skipping it. Been waiting to hear reviews. I’m sure it’s their normal level of high quality but I skipped Fatale because it just wasn’t of interest to me.
I ordered Morrison’s Batman Vol 3 from Tales of Wonder last night for $39, check if they still have it. I know on Amazon it was like $65.

I didn't love Fatale. Odd Lovecraftian horror that was well done but I didn't connect with the characters.
Ranking Brubaker's stuff off the top of my head:
Captain America run (very biased because I grew up loving Cap)
Daredevil
Books of Doom
The Immortal Iron Fist
Pulp
Velvet
Sleeper
Secret Avengers run (12 issues)
Catwoman run
Gotham Central
Incognito
X-Men run
Kill or Be Killed
The Fade Out
Fatale
Scene of the Crime (too short)
I haven't read Criminal but will likely pick up the new printings of his books. It's been too long since I read his Secret Avengers run to feel super comfortable with my ranking for that series.
Random Brubaker story from wikipedia: In December 2003, in a unique publicity stunt conceived to help promote the first trade paperback collection of Sleeper, Brubaker organized an "arm-wrestling competition" at San Francisco's "Isotope – the comic book lounge" comic book shop. If participants were able to beat Brubaker at arm wrestling they were awarded free signed comic books. According to Brubaker, the writer wrestled 40–50 people and won most of the time, losing only eight or nine times.

There’s a single issue in Priest’s Black Panther collection where he wore a short story about Dr. Doom. Reading that reminded me of Brubaker’s Doom series and made me want an OHC of it.
About the issue with IST not having DC collections available on release day: there are speculations that since they are now who DC uses to deliver their comics/books they are withholding books. Either because they have to fulfill other stores orders first (and enough books might not be available on release day), OR they are trying to respond to the criticism they got about being both the distributor and seller of comics will put them in a favorable position on the market. It might just be a one time fluke though.

Yup, I found it on Ebay a few weeks back and it just came in. Pretty excited to upgrade from the complete collections.
I preordered Batman on Amazon a long while back. I don't know where the best places are to get things to save costs, but like being able to preorder a LONG ways out on amazon and be surprised as stuff comes in. It's kind of like a surprise gift to myself.
Today I got in Quantum and Woody deluxe volume 2. I'm finally getting back into my Valiant kick. Recently picked up Ninjak volume 1 and 2, plus Ninja-K, as well as XO Manowar volume 3-5 and 1-2 by Kindt. I love ebay for the OOP stuff.

So far the X-O Manowar volumes have been my favorite from Valiant.

Let’s hope IST plays true to form and only releases 1/3 of that . . . If not, I’m going to have a big bill.
Anyone know any more details on that ASM vol. 2 omni by JMS, specifically if it’s more of the stock that released a few months ago, or a new printing? Kind of ridiculous to get another copy, but if it’s not the flat spine version that was initially released, I might buy again...

I loved Armor Hunters, though I'm currently slowly slogging through Quantum and Woody. Just not my favorite stuff, but as a completionist, I do what I must.

I believe it's the same book. A small quantity was available earlier in the year of just the regular cover and the pandemic kept the rest from shipping out in a timely manner that is just now being rectified. I assume the books will be the same build as the copies that were available earlier.

I’ve been considering creating a list of the flat spine binding books. I know I have at least one.
Thanks guys. Safe to say I’ll pass then. Also facing several purchases this month, so really don’t need to add to the cost.
Jeff, if you’re dipping into Valiant and already read XO and Harbinger, give Archer & Armstrong a try; my second favorite valiant series next to XO
I just ordered Star Wars by Jason Aaron omni from IST this morning and now I’m going to be ordering the Wolverine omni tomorrow if it really does come back in stock 😬
Blindzider wrote: "I’m hoping they have a decent supply and don’t sell out quickly."
I saw a screenshot showing Midtown Comics presale of the Wolverine omnibus reprint is sold out. Hopefully the popularity of the original and reprint leads to a volume 2 getting published.

Erik wrote: "Jeff, if you’re dipping into Valiant and already read XO and Harbinger, give Archer & Armstrong a try; my second favorite valiant series next to XO"Erik, A&A was great. I read chronologically through universes when I can, and am a bit of a completionist. So far I'm up to the Delinquents, collected in Quantum and Woody Deluxe Volume 2, though I've bought a lot more.
I'm slowly getting my collection on the CLZ Comics app. I've finished uploading all my DC trades and almost all of my Marvel trades, and I'm sitting at 1,463.
For DC, I own just about everything between Morrison JLA and Brightest Day. With Marvel, I own everything between 1998 to 2017. I've read up to Legacy, but didn't buy everything because I was deployed.
And then I have a full bookcase and a half of Image, Valiant, Vertigo, Boom!, etc hardcovers. I wish there was a way to share the collection somehow.
Wolverine reprint is in stock at cheap graphic novels. I just ordered mine. If they are sold out at Midtown as a post above suggested, anyone who wants one might just want to hop on it now.
Note that the copies of Wolverine vol. 1 available on CGN are “special order” items, meaning that CGN doesn’t necessarily have them in hand and doesn’t know when they’ll arrive to mail out to you—per their current COVID-19 Update.
Ooof the Covid special order designation wasn’t on the book when I placed the order, and now I see that it is. I hope mine comes in a reasonable period of time since they charged my PayPal immediately.
Hopefully it’s more just padding to cover their butts from back when all this started, and not actual supply issues. It was bizarre back when the omni first “released” this past spring: CGN got a limited number and posted something on social media about copies being bought up by other retailers before they could even get their hands on many, and IST got none.
IST has been my most reliable and has cheaper shipping so I would have preferred to order from them but once I saw that it wasn’t there this morning I got major fomo and bought from CGN. It’s all good, if it takes a while it will be a nice little gift down the road and I have plenty of Omnis that I’m still working my way through in the meantime 🤘🏼

Just making sure you are tracking, IST loads their new books for purchase every Tuesday at 2pm central standard time.
I'd like to order the Green Arrow and the Spider-man omnibus volumes today. We'll see how it goes. =)

Crap I forgot about Green Arrow. I’m also trying to accept that I may not get the covers that I want. May have to settle for whatever is available.
Damn I wish I knew about what exact time IST puts their new books up, I would have waited. Thanks for the info though, collecting is a learning process!

At least there is only one cover for Green Arrow. I do want the Garney Spider-man cover.
Anther tip for IST, they load new books in the New Releases section before they load on title page.

IST is slow but it works. I actually aordered Wolverine from IST even though I also ordered through CGN this morning, since I don’t know when that one will come. When I have both I’ll trade or sell one to a fellow collector 👍🏼
I was able to order both books I wanted. If these had been spaced out more I likely would have ordered more of the books that were released today but I saved a few in my wish list for the future if they are still available.
Placed my order for all four but it was nerve wracking. My internet connection kept dropping on top of IST website being slow. I hope there isn’t an email later saying they can’t fill one or more.
Yeah I got my Wolverine reprint within 5 mins of that 3 pm update. I actually modify my daily work schedule around the IST website update now since the pandemic hit and they’ve sold out so quickly on other items haha. Just funny thinking about how many others around the US are operating like me. Refresh IST at 2:59? No issues. But once the clock hits 3:00...feels like I’m back in the 90’s!
I actually had finally decided on the variant for Wolverine, was in my cart, but couldn’t check out because it was gone so got the regular cover which is fine. The saga of getting this book is now complete ha!
Just some info about the Wolverine Omnibus; there is unconfirmed info that the non-direct market version will have a curved spine BUT the DM version will have a flat spine.Just a warning if that is important to you.
Oh that’s interesting. I thought I read on the tapatalk forum that someone said the flat spine vendor was no longer used. But I can’t find that thread again.
I remember way back when Near Mint Condition broke the news about all these release changes with Marvel, at some point in their video discussion someone said that the Wolverine omnis released in Sept. might be from a different printer, avoiding the flat spine, which is why I held off ordering a copy until now. Hopefully what you’re saying is true at the least Johnny, but I wish everyone got curved. My flat-spined JMS ASM vol 2 seems fine, but it just bugs me every time I look at it compared to the other books.
Wolverine variant sold out in about 30 minutes. Specter Omnibus now sold out along with the DM cover version of the Cloak and Dagger omnibus.
Yep, looks like Wolverine regular just sold out too as it was #4 on the top list and then it wasn't after I refreshed and then searched for it. Hopefully folks here that wanted it got it. I picked it up on eBay earlier last year, for more than $58. :-) D'oh!
