And if you quite liked Wolf Hall and liked Bring up the Bodies, but have since developed an aversion to long overwritten books, you will find this one extremely tedious.
Me too, Linda. I thought Mantel did a great job showing how Cromwell changed as he gained more power and his family grew up and grew larger. I shed a tear when ***spoiler*** Cromwell died. I saw an interview with Hilary Mantel in which she said that she wasn’t sure how she would write his death scene, but while grocery shopping it came to her, she stood in the store sobbing, then collected herself and finished shopping.
I want a tshirt that says...And now get up.
Equally brilliant but of course much much more compact. You should watch it given how much you loved the first two plays.
