While he wasn't my prime suspect, he was on my list. There are just not enough clues in the book for the reader to figure it all out. Kate and Lee were having problems before Faith was born, so I wasn't that surprised to learn she had had an affair.
I was surprised Kate had an affair with Victor....we was kind of a tool. I wasn't surprised about the affair. In the very beginning Lee mentioned they'd gone through a hard time but things were getting better.
Christina T wrote: "n the very beginning Lee mentioned they'd gone through a hard time but things were getting better."Exactly. At the time, I thought it was because Lee had kept secrets from Kate (that may have played a part) but she was obviously feeling guilty too.
Kate decided to try to make her marriage work because she loved Lee. I have to wonder if Victor didn't feel slighted over her rejection and decision to have another baby with her husband. It might have made it easier for him to have them killed.
Victor really wasn't on my radar. I was leaning toward Frank or Roger Peyton being the person who hired Donnie. I was suspicious of Corey Swann and Josh Winslow and wondered how far they would go to protect their daughters.
Victor flew completely under my radar. I never suspected him of anything.
I was also surprised about Kate’s affair. Never suspected a thing, especially with Victor. There was another clue, though. At some point there was gossip that he’d had an affair with one of the skating moms. But, never even occurred to me that it was Kate.

I was also surprised that Victor turned out to be behind it all. I was leaning toward Corey Swann or Josh Winslow.
Victor was never on my suspect list. I thought it was Corey Swann and Josh Winslow trying to cover up what actually happened to protect their precious darlings. My only problem with that was I had no idea how they would have found Donnie.
I hadn’t thought about how they could have found someone like Donnie until the explanation was provided. I should have worked that out.
I never suspected Victor at all. Even the affair surprised me. Jonetta, I should have considered Victor after they talked about the program for juvenile delinquents, but it never came to mind.
Victor was a great baddie. No one pegged him. I was blown away with all the revelations at the end. It was a lot to take in and process and then the book ended.
