I was suspicious about this especially considering he felt guilty about something. That said, considering his personality, I had my doubts he was behind the theft.
I was also suspicious of it but blew it off thinking it was more of a red herring. With how Ellie's coworker was acting I thought he (was it Frank?) was involved in that one.

I wondered if someone at the law firm had somehow made the two deposits into Lee's account to make him look guilty. I didn't think Lee had stolen the money himself.
It gave me pause because the amounts were the same and I don’t like coincidences. But, it just didn’t seem to fit the man.
Jonetta wrote: "It gave me pause because the amounts were the same and I don’t like coincidences. But, it just didn’t seem to fit the man."The same amounts had me suspecting it might be true, but then I thought about it again and dismissed it because it was too out of character.
I didn't believe Lee took the money from his firm. Not in his character to do something like that. Where it could have come from? I thought it was a retainer from Lindsey's parents for her case. He didn't know if the firm would let him take the case. If not, I think he would have pursued it on his own.
Robin I'm with you. I didn't suspect Lee. It felt like someone was setting him up. I thought it was either Roger Peyton or Frank. Both Peytons seem a little shady to me.
Roger was really high on my list for orchestrating the murders. I didn’t trust him and I recall Ellie not being able to reach him the night Lee & Kate were killed. But, I thought Frank had embezzled the money.
Jonetta wrote: " But, I thought Frank had embezzle..."I suspected Frank of embezzling, but then I thought that Roger had enough access to the firm to allow him to embezzle and put the focus on Frank. I didn't like them at all.
Sharon wrote: " I didn't them at all.."They were both totally smarmy, but as I'd already decided that Kate was the target of the killing, I couldn't see either one as the mastermind.
I could see them wanting to kill Lee but not Kate.
Roger and Frank were my main suspects. I also didn't like Peyton Sr. He seemed like the kind that would use a hitman to get rid of problems.
At first, I thought it was a retainer from Lindsay's parents but I really felt that Lee was honest right from the beginning. I then thought that someone at the firm did it to get Lee in trouble. My main suspect was Frank.I didn't like any of the men that Ellie worked with at the firm (except Lee, of course). Roger gave me the creeps.
