Ollie, that's a good start. You must add plot details (from your comments) to the topic header (title), so someone could recognize your book from that description alone. Many members only read the headers.
We have thousands of book requests. We close threads with vague headers.
Click the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, there's a "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)
- Around what year did you read this book? A range of years is fine.

It’s about a young boy and girl who, on the cover, are sat on a gate. They see in the distance a little town and they venture towards it. They also have a dog (can’t remember the breed!) As they approach the town they start to see people driving around in little cars, but these people are oddly shaped, with round bodies, exceptionally long arms, the women have lots of makeup on and the men are dressed very smart with top hats etc.
At one point the main boy walks out in front of one of the townsfolk and the man driving the car crashes into him. This sparks lots of outrage from the other townsfolk and eventually the boy and girl have to leave. The townspeople are very small - almost up to the boys knees I think.
I have really good memories of the book and really want to find the name so I can look to see if I can buy it again, but yep...I can’t remember what it’s called! I can try to remember more of people have questions but this community seems like my last hope!
Thank you!
