J.W. Metcalf (jwmetcalf) | 2 comments I found this discussion group scrolling through the mysteries section and it was perfect for me. My name is Jaime and I currently write P.I. mystery novels. I was curious if you would be interested in reading my novels, I have two currently, and get your opinions on if I wrote the P.I. properly. I am always looking for reviews/critiques and I would be happy to send you the books in any format you prefer.
I was also wondering if you would answer PI questions from time to time. Thank you.

Hey, so sorry I didn't see this sooner! I obviously don't have some notification thingee turned on. Damn, I MUST get better at this social media stuff.

Yes, I can answer your PI questions. The most important thing to remember about PIs is that we have no special authority to force anyone to do anything and we have to abide by the laws like everyone else. So we must be charming (and sneaky).

As far as your books go, feel free to send me a PDF at my author email: pam@pamelabeason.com but be forewarned that I may not get to it for a couple of months. My schedule is WAY too busy right now. But I wish you all the best and terrific book sales!

J.W. Metcalf (jwmetcalf) | 2 comments My PI runs into that problem in my second book. He went to go interview someone and they threw him off their property. Thanks. I'll get back to you soon.

Yes, I've had some criminals call the cops on ME. Criminals on one side, usually attorneys on the other--PIs have to be super careful to be law-abiding or they get sued for all sorts of stuff.

Some PIs doing surveillance have been accused of stalking, to which I say, yeesh, learn to disguise yourself better or get a partner to switch off with.
