Lilly S Boy there are going to be a lot of rants here. My opinion on Twilight.... idk. I guess I can see why people like it. Personally, I don't really like it

shea I don’t love it.... I think she over uses a lot of words, such as describing Edwards eyes as sparky and beautiful, (which beautiful can mean different things to different people, so it’s kinda confusing) or Edwards constant chuckling.

-He chuckled
- he chuckled darkly
- he sighed and then chuckled
- he chuckled blackly

It goes on and on. I would like to see someone count how many times certain words are repeated. But, overall I think it’s a great book, that everyone should read at least once.

shea Also, why is everyone in love with her?!

I loooved this series in sixth grade and I have no idea why, because going back to read it i realized....it's really trash.
Bella is a useless potato who somehow had like four guys at her heels despite having no personality whatsoever.
I was still team Edward, though. Because Jacob was just annoying and inconvenient and, while the chemistry between Bella and Edward was laughable at best, Jacob and Bella had none.
To be homest though, the books are still fairly decent. You could get away with reading them. But the movies? No.

Lilly S At the top of every group homepage there are options and there is text that you can click on to leave the group

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

are you on the app or website?

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

oh ok, I don't think it works on the app. If you go to the website there will be the options to leave the group

Lilly S Yeah sorry I didn't even realize that because I use my laptop most of the time

urmom (urmomreadsbooks) | 307 comments idk i personally didn't mind the books that much. yes, he was quite creepy but in my head, edward was also smooth XD but in the movie, oh my goodness, they made him so awkward and i didn't like it as much as the book haha. i've only read/watched the first book/movie tho

Bel | 19 comments I actually really enjoyed reading these books. I know they're not particularly clever and Bella is a really weak character but I genuinely found them entertaining.

Lilly S Haha

I plan on watching the first movie so I know what happens, but unfortunately I had to dnf the book cuz I just couldn't stand it and it was dragging.

Stephanie Finsterbush | 9 comments I know this thread is kinda dead but I have some thoughts and I wanna share so here I am. Twilight is no literary masterpiece. The characters aren't that good. It should have been one book and then done. It's really weird everyone wanted to date Bella. The codependency is sickening.

However, it was a fun and easy read. And sometimes that's all you need. I rated it three stars because of this exact reason. It's not a good book but it was fun and easy to read and that's personally all I need. :)

Stephanie Finsterbush | 9 comments How do you guys feel about the fact that Meyer made Midnight Sun? Or the fact that she made gender-bent twilight a while back? Do you think it's a cash grab, do you respect her decision to do so, if you read Midnight Sun are you hoping she'll do more from Edward's POV (despite her saying she doesn't want to rn) or do you hope she stops?

Just curious!! :)

I mean I tough the twilight was okay, but the last time I read it was 5th grade sooooooooooooooooo..."

Yeah the first time I read the books was like third or fourth grade. I reread the first book earlier this year because of midnight sun. It's definitely not a technically good book. I just thought it was fun.

Yeah I could definitely understand her for doing it. And to me, it's clearly not just for the money because she doesn't want to do the whole series, so if it was just for money and not at least largely for fun, you'd think she'd go all the way??

I honestly wouldn't judge her for doing it just even for the money. Because if you can and you want to, why not get every last drop of cash you can out of something you created? I really don't see a problem with it as long as they keep it honest in terms of not deceiving their fans in anyway.

Oof yeah that's gotta be rough. Like even if you don't like Twilight, imagine putting all this work into something you really enjoyed making and having people ruin it for your audience. Awful.

Yasmin Silva I saw one movie and I hate it
So I didn’t want to read the book
( my opinion )

It seems Bella has no life outside Edward. I just hate them and Jacob..... Ufff can't he ever put on a shirt? Does he seriously have to walk around 24/7 half naked?

I only read the first book but I did watch all the moves and at first I like them only because of Edward and now haha I hate it I wish I could get those hours back! I wish I listen to my sister and stop watching them why was I being so stubborn she was absolutely right

Yeah, Alice is one Twilight character I actually like. Also Carlisle. But I've only read the first book, so Idk how they are in the rest of the series. I couldn't pull myself to read the next 4 books.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, Alice is one..."

Alice is one of my favorites too. their personalities don't change much through the series. I really loved reading breaking dawn.

the movies are so damn different from the books. I would ask you to give the books a chance before deciding. it's not the best book, but it's not nearly half as bad as the movies.

message 28: by Luna (last edited Apr 05, 2021 10:10PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Luna (luna13) | 93 comments I just finished the first book and it's not as bad as I was expecting. It was honestly entertaining and I found myself interested. Of course you can't ignore the flaws of this book, namely the Edward/Bella relationship which is toxic. For that reason I gave it 3 stars.

message 30: by abi (new) - rated it 4 stars

abi (abimesa) | 313 comments just started reading this today!

Claire Duggan | 40 comments I read this in seventh grade, (4 years ago) and I think what would have fixed these books is if Bella had a stronger personality. I think it would have been much more entertaining for her to be yelling at the cullens for being over protective and blessing Edward around when she was pregnant. Like imagine that.

uplifted | 14 comments I really think the book is better than the movie… just my opinion though.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

I’ve been wondering about this book… it looks interesting! Somehow the synopsis seems almost exactly like what happened to me when I was like 16.
