They both receive strange messages to meet each other by the lake. They don't know each other, but they are guided by a nymph to start the quest.

Cyrus walked to the shore of the lake. The pristine water looked like blue glass reflecting the darkening sky. After a minute, someone else approaches: Bulky and armed. Cyrus tensed and clenched his fists.

((Eh, whatever you want))

The surface of the water rippled and a column of water came up. It formed into the shape of a woman. Two green lights appeared on the top and a serene voice sounded throughout the plains: "Varryc... Cyrus... You have come at last. We have waited your arrival." The column shifted over to the coast and became a tall woman in white drapes.

Cyrus looked at the woman, having a brief moment of deja vu. "Yes, why have you called us here?"

The woman held up her hand and called for silence. "There is a grave danger in the world. I have sensed it, as have my sisters in the wood. A dark force has awakened, and we need heroes in this dark time."

Cyrus glanced back at Varryc, his nonchalance disturbing him. He looked back at the woman, but his eyes still lingered on Varryc's frame. "But why do you need us? We certainly aren't the strongest of our kind out there."

The woman smiled ever so slightly. "That is true; you two are not the strongest. But you're the bravest. Bravery is greater than strength, you must understand. Varryc and You will balance each other to complete your mission."

The woman frowned and her eyes turned from green to orange. "I know more about you than you know about yourself. Some goes for Cyrus. I have chosen you two for a reason, a reason which you will have to find out for yourself."

Cyrus listened intently, a look of slight fear playing in his eyes. "So we are expected to work this all out without your help?" He said. The woman looked at him. "Not without help, no. But I can only guide you but so far."

The woman stared down Varryc, her skin losing its glow. "If you desire to fight, you shall get much of it. There will be little lack of danger in your adventures."
