Great movie lines - Match Game
Raymond wrote: "Message 320"Have I raped you?"
"The night is young.""
Hint: the second line is said by Faye Dunaway.
Raymond wrote: "Message 321"There I was in prison, and one day I helped some nice older gentlemen make some free telephone calls. They turned out to be... let us say, good family men."
"Organized crime?"
"Ha, don't kid yourself. It's not that organized."
Hint: Think Nike. Think Adidas.
Raymond wrote: "J. wrote: "Lizzie wrote: ""You're gonna need a bigger boat.""Jaws"
Lizzie will likely come back to confirm that, but I am sure that is correct. It's probably one of the most well known lines in ..."
Yes, Jaws is correct.
How this is supposed to work.1. Post a great movie line that you remember.
2. Just the movie line. Don't identify the movie.
3. Let someone else in a subsequent post try to identify the movie.
4. Try not to use Google. This is a memory game.
Raymond wrote: "Raymond wrote: ""How many of them hormones you takin', honey?""Hint: Towanda"
Fried Green Tomatoes. Towanda gave it away.
Papaphilly wrote: "Raymond wrote: "Raymond wrote: ""How many of them hormones you takin', honey?""Hint: Towanda"

That's correct. It was another great movie.
Message 190 - still unsolved, I think. "So, I studied accounting at the University of Chicago, where fun goes to die."
Message 130 - from J. - I don't think it was solved. "Come back from the grave and ran out of ammunition."
Message 114 - from Message 48 - still unsolved, I think."Somewhere, some lucky guy's having a heart attack."
Hint: This actor, in another movie, said, "Here's Johnny!"
This exercise has been interesting. We are mostly posting quotes from movies that we enjoyed. It gives some insight into those who post the quotes; genres they've enjoyed, geographic location, approximate age. For the most part, memorable lines come from good writing. Let's have some more.
Raymond wrote: "Message 114 - from Message 48 - still unsolved, I think."Somewhere, some lucky guy's having a heart attack."

The Bucket List
As for the Hint - The Shining
Lizzie wrote: "Raymond wrote: "Message 114 - from Message 48 - still unsolved, I think."Somewhere, some lucky guy's having a heart attack."

The Buck..."
That's correct, Lizzie!
Raymond wrote: "Raymond wrote: "Message 320"Have I raped you?"

Hint: the second line is said by Faye Dunaway."
Another hint. This was a mid-70's spy flic. And hint number three would give it away.
Raymond wrote: "Message 130 - from J. - I don't think it was solved. "Come back from the grave and ran out of ammunition.""
Hint: Classic 80s horror film
"All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!"This one is not what it seems.
Papaphilly wrote: ""You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it's all about.""Well, it certainly sounds like a sniper movie. The only one I've seen more than once is Shooter. If that is it, I don't remember that line.
Raymond wrote: "Papaphilly wrote: ""You have to think about one shot. One shot is what it's all about.""Well, it certainly sounds like a sniper movie. The only one I've seen more than once is Shooter. If that is..."
No it is not it.
I don't think this was solved. It's another of my favourite old movies from the year after I was born, 1951.Raymond wrote: ""Oh, I ain't worried, Miss. Gave myself up for dead back where we started."
Hint: This is from an old movie about a boat."

African Queen?

That's correct. The African Queen. One of my favourite Bogie films. I thought Hepburn was great, too.

That was more of a guess. An educated guess, but a guess.
Raymond wrote: "Raymond wrote: "Message 320"Have I raped you?"

Another hint. This was a mid-70's spy flic. And hint number three would give it away.
Here's the answer: Three Days of the Condor. 1975. Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway. If you get a chance to see it sometime, it's a good one.
The book is even better - ‘Six Days of the Condor’. The movie producers told the author six days was to long for a filmv

You say 1950s and a boat, I automatically think African Queen. Hepburn was great in that moive; Bogart was pretty good too.
Rita wrote: ""I don't even buy green bananas any more!""Rita, my brother and I often used that line as we grew older. I'm sure I've heard it in one or more movies, but I can't place it. Sounds like something from the Bucket List, or one of George Burns' lines.
Raymond wrote: ""Is it safe?"Hint: From another mid-70's movie."
The Marathon Man. Man that scene cut right through me.

I don't know if it was in a movie. Ch-Chi Rodriguez had been known to say it and I think in the 80s it was attributed to a congressman, Claude Pepper, who was a spokesperson for elderly groups. I always assumed it was one of those old saying that someone brought back into usage.

That's correct. That scene stays with you.
Lizzie wrote: "Well, it's not the men in your life that count, it's the life in your men."Sounds like something that Mae West would have said.
J. wrote: "Papaphilly wrote: "Papaphilly wrote: "" "All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. ..."Yep
Raymond wrote: "Lizzie wrote: "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"Network."
yes
Raymond wrote: "Lizzie wrote: "Well, it's not the men in your life that count, it's the life in your men."Sounds like something that Mae West would have said."
It is.
Still unsolved, I think. "You didn't mean what you just said, did you?"
"When?"
"Just right now, when you were talking about bringing a child into the world, and having it be an act of cruelty."
"I meant it at the time."
"Stanley, "at the time"? You said it seven and a half seconds ago!"
Hint: These quotes were not from Sean Connery, but he was one of the stars of this movie near the end of his career.

Answer - I enjoyed many of Sean Connery's movies. This one was released in 1996 - "The Rock".

I figured this one would be easy. It is one of the poignant moments of the film and is heartbreaking.
