Alex | 2736 comments What do we do if the record of the edition of a book with the original cover has never had its ASIN/ISBN attached, and then a later cover, that would normally be made into an ACE, gets the ASIN/ISBN? Do we then make the original cover edition into an ACE? Or do we move the identifiers to the original cover edition?

Z-squared | 8575 comments We never move ASINs/ISBNs. There's no rule that only the 'original' or 'oldest' editions should have ISBNs, only that the first cover to Goodreads with a valid ASIN/ISBN attached keeps it. In such an instance as you've described, I would just denote the original-cover edition as an ACE.
