SOLVED. Sci-fi Alien pilot is one of the best & his son is the other. They don't know each other. Father has really bad anger issues/raging, son might as well. Father is sent to space station as part of his job. Meets old love there. Poss. Spoilers Ahead.

Sci-fi with romance. Alien father (protagonist) is one of the best pilots out there. His son is the other and they have fought each other without knowing who the other one was. The father has super bad anger issues, or he might have raging abilities. The son might as well. They are very territorial. The father is transferred to a space station as part of his job, where he remeets the mother. The mom tried to keep the son's existence secret at first. When the father finds out he is shook. The son chaperones the father and mother's date as they get to know each other again. The mother had a bad experience at school during (I think) graduation. It might be because of the father. The space station is attacked at one point. The family has ties to a royal family somewhere. I read it around 2018, and it was several years old at that point. I think it was made after the 20th century. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a prequel or sequel, or even part of a series. The work reminded me of Sherilyn Kenyon, but I don't think she authored it (she very well could have and I just missed it when I checked). I think the cover might have also had a sword on it.
