Yeah, I wanted to ask this too, is there like a specific date?

I would have never had my wedding on a windy, muddy, sad-looking remote location. Nothing scream romance when reading the island's landscape and general vibe. Who has a different opinion on the matter?

Never ever would I agree to be married in a place so far from civilisation, where there are no cell signals, where bad luck symbols follow you so undeterringly, where there is a castle, which is not fully populated. It would be asking to be murdered to me.

I’m currently on page 77 and I am curious what opinions there are about Charlie and Jules together.

I don't think you have reached the part that explains the dark story of the island.
I read the book two months ago so I don't have all the details in mind but I remember feeling like their relationship is purely based on physical attraction, like many celebrities. Sex is great is practiced regularly, but there is no depth to their relationship.

I am interested in finding out the history of the island.

Oh that's how it works we all discuss at the same time?! That makes sense, haha silly me.

I totally agree with your feelings about each of the characters. I enjoyed the changing perspectives and being able to piece the characters lives together as the story developed.

I have to agree that the location doesn't sound like an ideal venue for a wedding. The poor guests and the choppy rides getting there. But I also felt like there could have been some charm due to the remoteness of the location and the lack of technology. It almost makes everyone take in their surroundings and kind of escape the modern world.

It almost seemed like Jules and Charlie should have been the ones getting married. She seems to be so much more relaxed when she's with him. I really liked Charlie's wife though. Her perspective might have been my favorite.

Hi Carrie, (view spoiler)

Hi Mairy, If I were a celebrity and wanted to make sure no paps got to my wedding destination, so I could have a private wedding with just family and friends and the wedding was half price, then I would definitely consider the island for a wedding destination especially as it seems the house was quite nice and the chef was amazing... you'd definitely have to consider the pros and cons. It also only seemed creepy at night, because of the weather. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

The bride ‧ The plus one ‧ The best man ‧ The wedding planner ‧ The bridesmaid ‧ The body
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine, or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.
But perfection is for plans, and people are all too human. As the champagne is popped and the festivities begin, resentments and petty jealousies begin to mingle with the reminiscences and well wishes. The groomsmen begin the drinking game from their school days. The bridesmaid not-so-accidentally ruins her dress. The bride’s oldest (male) friend gives an uncomfortably caring toast.
And then someone turns up dead. Who didn’t wish the happy couple well? And perhaps more important, why?
