2. Harry, for the first time, expressed serious doubts about his partner, Jerry Edgar. Were you surprised and what did you make of it at the time?

I was always wary of Edgar, not really sure where his loyalties were. I wasn't surprised at the time and was actually glad Harry was on alert.

(In the audio format, the narrator adds to the uneasiness by how he portrays Edgar...sort of distracted. It helped form my opinion.)

❆ Crystal ❆ (crystal_wright) I think Harry has always been a bit disappointed with Edgar. He doesn't live the job like Harry. Edgar seems to care more about his other job.
I was surprised that Edgar went as far as he did. I was really, really disappointed in him. I'm surprised that Harry forgave him as quickly as he did.

I recall feeling so let down when Edgar's betrayal unfolded.

I know... he's the last I expected... And, he excuses were totally lame! I loved when Harry said that he didn't want to hear about how terrible it is that your wife has to drive a Chevy instead of a BMW. And, it was at the worst possible time... Chandler is a shark and she's after Harry and Edgar is feeing her information. I was sick... just sick.

It was so lame. I still haven't recovered. Not sure I ever will.

:-) I'm with you on that. The only way I'll ever be able to forgive Edgar is if he took a bullet for Harry... Then, they would be even.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I never got the sense that Harry and Edgar were as close as partners should be. Edgar always seemed to have one foot out of the door while Harry sees the job as a mission.

Nevertheless, I was a bit surprised that Edgar betrayed Harry to Chandler. I was convinced that Pounds was the leak.

I too liked the fact that Harry said he wasn't interested in Edgar's excuses, but I'm also glad that they ultimately worked it out. I think that Harry is going to need all the friends he can get at some point.

@Crystal - I agree. Edgar is going to have to work hard to get back into my good books.

I'm glad they worked it out but partners have to trust each other. It's got to be tough for Harry to get back there.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Absolutely Jonetta. Whatever trust was between them before has now been damaged. It's going to take time for it to build again if ever.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I agree with all the comments above. It was very gracious of Harry to forgive such betrayal. It portrays his fundamental goodness, which helps me balance when he tiptoes over the line trying to get at truth.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments Agree. I couldn't believe that Edgar was the leak. I'm really surprised Harry forgave him. I would have a real hard time doing that.
