Ughhh, I wish. I think he was a suit and tie kind of guy... maybe a lawyer, but I'm honestly not certain. He was a bit more uptight than his brother.
I do think that the family she was marrying into was a bit wealthy, and I'd like to say they were in a some kind of city... I just know it wasn't a small town. And I think the brothers' parents were living.
(I think my book had less tortured souls.) =)
Your suggestion looks kind of similar to the book I read, but I don't think this book was part of a series. The ending had a fairly satisfying wrap-up.
And from the comments I read on Amazon and the peak at the book, the heroine in my book is more easy-going than a control freak (which is why she gets along with the brother, not because they have parent issues.) I'm also fairly certain the woman in my book was not named Carly (seeing as that is one of my oldest friend's names, I would hope I would have remembered something like that.) I probably would have thought it was cheesy even back then that the author named a character in a book after her pen name.
And I do think my book was published a bit before this one came out in 2000. (It was a paperback also, btw.)
There are some similarities, but some parts of what I did get to read just didn't seem to fit. I think I will have to see if I can track this one down at the library when I can go on Monday to skim through the whole thing just to be sure.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will let you know if I'm completely wrong, and this is the book I've been looking for!

Amanda hasn't been active on GR at all since May 2016. Do we want to try to send a PM or move down to Unsolved?

It was a small-sized book, like the Harlequin Romance books, and was probably around 200ish pages. I don't remember the cover, and for some reason I keep thinking the author was Cynthia Voight, but I've already looked her up, and that's not right. But I do think the author is female.
Details that I remember... there aren't too many but a few stand out.
A woman goes home with her fiance - and she is finishing planning last minute details for the wedding (maybe 1-2 weeks until the date). She is around 27-28 years old.
I'm not sure if she had met his family (I'm thinking they had some money actually) before she goes home with him, but I think so, and they all get along well, and like each other.
Her fiance has a brother that she's never met, and he shows up for the wedding, and we meet him after the first chapter I believe. I think he has a job that requires him to travel, maybe he's a photographer. And for some reason I think he shows up on a motorcycle.
For some reason she ends up spending a lot of time alone with the brother. Her fiance is MIA for most of the book for some reason, like he is busy for work.
I think the brothers aren't very close for some reason, and the woman can't really understand why because she gets along with her fiance's brother, and they really seem to understand each other.
At one point the woman (it is driving me crazy right now that I can't remember any names in this story) is watching one of the family member's babies. I'm not sure why, but for some reason she was exploring a lot in their house... she wasn't snooping but, she was looking for something or organizing things for some reason...
Anyway, the baby has cloth diapers, and when she has to change it, she accidentally pokes it with the safety pin, and the baby starts screaming and she freaks out. She calls the brother over because everyone is gone and she is freaking out because she stabbed the baby. He comes over and tells her the baby is fine, and shows her that there was barely a mark.
They end up talking for a while. I think they are in the attic for some reason, and he starts helping her sort through what she's doing, and he starts asking her why she is marrying his brother.

I don't know if this is a spoiler necessarily, because you can see it coming halfway through the book, but she ends up breaking up with her fiance because she falls in love with his brother. And they really are better matched. (As I'm writing this, I'm thinking the book has no conflict whatsoever, lol.) But I think her ex-fiance even gives them his blessing. Their breakup wasn't really all that dramatic.
There may have been a bit more of an ending to the book that wrapped it all up, but that was the basic ending, that those two got together.

If anyone knows this book, I will be ecstatic. Thank you!
