Mega Month Challenge - August 2020 - Main Thread - Final Results Posted!

July 2020 will be YA Buddy Reader's Corner ♥'s 8 year anniversary, so to celebrate we will be holding our 8th MMC - Mega Month Challenge!

This year's MMC will be made up of two challenges - one reading challenge, and one non-reading challenge ☺ You can also earn some bonus points by participating in our Group Buddy Reads for August, and you can enter to win some bonus points in our Bonus Fairy Lottery ☺



The challenges will be as follows -

Please note:

- Please sign-up for the Wheel of Fortune challenge as soon as possible. If you sign up after teams are posted, you may have to wait for a space to become available. Solo positions are always available.

- There is no need to sign up for the Non-Reading challenge, simply send in your answers once rounds are posted ☺

- You may join our Group Buddy Reads at any time from August 1st to August 31st. Normal buddy read rules apply, if people have posted comments about the book before you, we will expect you to have replied to at least one comment.

- The Bonus Fairy Lottery thread will open on August 1st ☺

- If you would like to receive messages about this years MMC, please join our Alerts Group here - https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/... we will not be sending out messages on the regular group system, as this tends to bother people who are not taking part in the challenge.

- The Wheel of Fortune Challenge and Group Buddy Reads will end at 00:01 on September 1st 2020 PST.

- The Non-Reading Challenge and Bonus Fairy Lottery will end at the end of August 30th, that is 00:01 on August 31st 2020. This gives us mods time to finish off those two challenges before the others finish, and also gives you a chance to get in any last-minute reviews without wondering what the Fairy is up to ☺

- Final scores will be posted on this thread on September 1st/2nd ☺

Question - This may have already been answered but I am not sure...When counting letters for the boards, do subtitles and author names count? Or is it only the letters in the title? so the title has say 3 E's but there are 2 more E's in the subtitle. Would that be counted for 5 E's or only the original 3?

Answer - Author names count. I'm not sure about the subtitles. I'll leave that for Sarah to answer. :)

It is then your team's job to fill in the letters on your board. You can do this by doing the following:
- Read a book of your own choice
- Choose ONE letter from anywhere in your chosen books title, series name, or author name, which also appears on your team's current board.
- Post the link to your review (or status updates) for your book on your team's review thread along with your chosen letter.

* If your book has multiple authors, you may choose a letter from any of them, as long as they are "authors", narrators, editors, illustrators, translators etc cannot be used.

Answer - Hi, I'm not 100% sure what you mean, so I'll try and answer all the possible things that I think you might mean.


- If you want to know which letters you have to complete on your board, then the answer is everything that has a _ in place of a letter. This is the title, series name, and author name.
So, your team's first board is -

91. Pieces of Me (Foundation #1) by Kira Adams

So your team would need to read books which complete the letters P, I, E, C, S, O, M, F, U, N, D, A, T, K, R
