A typical Nicholas Sparks, full of romance and tears. Theresa, a divorced mother and newspaper columnist, is vacationing at her friends house in Cape Cod. While walking along the beach, she finds a bottle and there's a message in it. A very tender message that is bound to move the reader. She is encouraged to publish it in her column. After some pushing, she finally agrees if she can mask the names. Things change quickly from that point and she ends up finding and meeting the author of the note who lives in North Carolina.

It's easy to like these characters. The story is easy to read. It tugs on your heartstrings. It would make a very good Hallmark movie with a little change toward the end.

As for me, after reading Small Great Things with its depth, this was just a little too light. It was too much of a sudden change.
