Jin Ryoo | 243 comments I am curious how you guys read your books! Do you read them on kindle, online, pdf, or just paperback or hardcover books? Thank you!

message 2: by Renee (new)

Renee (_reneejo_) | 54 comments I prefer hard cover but most of my books are paper back

Usually I have the audio book playing on a faster speed and I read along with it (life hack if you want to learn to read faster)

Other times I just sit outside and read at a park or in my backyard

message 3: by Martina (new)

Martina (maria_martina) I read on paperback books or my phone. I only read one book at a time

message 4: by Smiley (new)

Smiley C | 397 comments paper back or hardback. Digital hurts my eyes.

Read once very fast, then re-read favourite parts several times (takes half a month to three months), and finally read from cover to cover again.

Do you re-read your books?

message 5: by Cadence (new)

Cadence Schrock | 12 comments I read my book either hardcover or paperback. 😊📖

message 6: by Renee (new)

Renee (_reneejo_) | 54 comments I always read multiple books at once because I’m a big mood reader, also I only reread my favourite books or books that make me feel nostalgic

message 7: by Jin (new)

Jin Ryoo | 243 comments I definitely re-read my books. Some of the pages in my books are threatening to rip. I also read fast first, and then re-read.

message 8: by Jin (new)

Jin Ryoo | 243 comments I also sometimes read several books at once.

message 9: by urmom (last edited Jul 11, 2020 12:44AM) (new)

urmom (urmomreadsbooks) | 26 comments i used to use my kindle (back in like elementary school lol). i had the paperwhite one (only black and white, and looked more like actual pages) and then the colored one. but now, i much prefer reading physical books, regardless of paperback or hardcover (both have their pros and cons, but i overall favor hardcover). i tend to only read one book at a time, unless i have to read something for school :)

oH and i also reread. like, maybe if it's a favorite of mine, or if i just want to re-experience it, then i might read something at least a year after i first read it

message 10: by jenny (new)

jenny | 162 comments I only read paperbacks and sometimes I listen to audiobooks, though I only started doing that this year. I don't usually read multiple books at once, only when I have LOADS of books I want to read (and not enough time hahah)

message 11: by Brooke (new)

Brooke If I can I read paperback or hardcover but I will read on my kindle or phone from time to time

message 12: by bookishcarli (new)

bookishcarli | 24 comments I usually read from a paperback or hardcover, but if I can’t get that, then sometimes I will listen to it.

message 13: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (honoryourcat) I rarely read ebooks/listen to audiobooks. I prefer buying paperbacks because they're cheaper, but I don't have a paperback/hardcover preference when I get books from the library.

message 14: by Raynah (new)

Raynah I usually read paperbacks and hardbacks, but I’ve also been listening to a lot more audiobooks. I will occasionally read an ebook but I prefer to read it a book physically

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I rarely listen to audiobooks and usually read paperbacks but sometimes read online when I can't find a book anywhere else.

message 16: by Amelie (new)

Amelie My preference is paperbacks, but lately I’ve been reading a lot of ebooks.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I prefer paper books then ebooks or audiobooks, i really don’t care if its paperback or hardcover.

liv (oliviarose_) | 362 comments Mod
I prefer to collect hardcovers, but I'll read it, hardcover or paperback, from the library first, to see if I like it enough to buy a hardcover copy. I don't tend to listen to audiobooks because I have a hard time comprehending it if I'm only hearing it. I don't love ebooks, but if I have to read it as an ebook, I will.

I avoid reading digital so what I'll do after all this is to go to the library too! Before they close I've never realised how much I rely on it.

liv (oliviarose_) | 362 comments Mod
I like hardcover the best, but I'm fine with paperback too. The only time I read ebooks is when I can't get access to a copy of it, such as during quarantine lmao.

Emilie | 1188 comments Mod
I loooove floppy paperbacks, but I like collecting the hardcovers of signed books. I sometimes listen to audiobooks, but it's a very on and off type thing. I have a nook, so I occasionally read ebooks, but it's not a very usual thing.

message 22: by Nienke (new)

Nienke (hazelnutsjames) I loveeee paperback books :)
sometimes a audiobook but only when I'm walking, drawing or doing homework haha

message 23: by Gullala (new)

Gullala (peachy_tea) | 1 comments I used to go to my local library or my school library to check out some books to read, but every since the pandemic closed my library I've been reading using my tablet and checking out books digitally from my library on overdrive. Although I prefer reading a paperback or hardcover I guess right now I have no choice but to read ebooks for now :|

Urvi (Just another lost angel) | 13 comments I mostly read books on my kindle....but I read paperbacks too! And I like both of them! if there's an option between them....I wouldn't be able able to choose one! since both have their own pros and cons. I also llloooovvveee the smell of new books!!!! Anyone like me??

message 25: by Nat (new)

Nat (simply_bookish) I’ve tried reading on the Libby app but I couldn’t handle it for very long. I prefer reading either paperback or hardcover and recently, I discovered how I understand Classics so much better when I listen to an audiobook while reading.

message 26: by Nat (new)

Nat (simply_bookish) I also have a habit of reading two books at once

message 27: by Srujan (new)

Srujan (srujanreads) | 70 comments I read on kindle as well as paper back.
On kindle I mostly read books that are free and by infamous authors as I like explore new authors writing skills.
And paper back I prefer famous books and series.
I avoid reading pdf as I have pretty big spectacle number.

message 28: by Smiley (new)

Smiley C | 397 comments Do you guys read fast or slow? When I read too fast I feel like 'oh it's all over. How sad', but when I try reading slow I just can't help craving to know what happens next.

message 29: by amia (new)

amia 🇵🇸🌟💤 (taylor's ver (makevocaloidgreatagain) just whatever i got

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Smiley wrote: "Do you guys read fast or slow? When I read too fast I feel like 'oh it's all over. How sad', but when I try reading slow I just can't help craving to know what happens next."

it depends on my mood at the time and whether i like the book i'm reading. if i really like a book, i'll usually finish it in a day but i may try to spread it out if i have no books lined up to read next. i read physical books much quicker than ebooks but it really does depend on the situation.

message 31: by marzzzzz (new)

marzzzzz I usually read in paperback/hardcover and have a bad habit of reading more than one at once. I find when I read them I see it as almost a movie, like when I think of the book it's like replaying a scene from a movie in my mind. I see the character(s) doing the actions. but if I realize I'm doing it, it's almost like I'm thrown back into reality and I'm back to seeing/reading words instead of watching the scenes(?) idk, it's weird.

Yes!!!! Of course. I get so sucked into it!

message 39: by Annie (new)

Annie I usually prefer reading hardcover (or paperback, anything real) and I also sometimes (like when I don’t want to wait for a book to arrive) read on my kindle. Sorry this post is late, I just joined the group.

message 40: by Kara (new)

Kara | 1028 comments i definitely prefer reading along with an audiobook because it helps me comprehend the story better and it helps me read faster.

iamaunicornwithyellowfeet (bookobsessedblob) | 153 comments I will always choose a paperback

message 42: by Meggie (new)

Meggie Jackson | 9 comments I always prefer paperbacks bcs when I read online I don’t get the feel if u know what I mean...

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

hard coverd is preferd for me. less likley to get destoryed if i fall asleep

message 44: by Melvin (new)

Melvin | 2 comments I really don’t know. In my opinion, a book is a book. I like Kindle because you can have multiple books at your fingertips, but I also have a bookshelf in my room filled with everything from a science guidebook to manga. Paperback does not hurt your eyes, but it does not have a backlight. A lot of Kindles are reverse of that. I tend to read whatever is available.

message 45: by Reed (new)

Reed (reedster6) | 42 comments One book📔 at a time one day at a time⏳

message 46: by Addison (new)

Addison i read one or two books and listen to a book at a time

message 47: by Peter (new)

message 48: by Peter (new)

Peter | 7 comments And I read everything, except audiobooks. I like to be able to see the stuff.

message 49: by ViCarysix (new)

ViCarysix | 7 comments I read mostly real books and some online. And usually 2 at a time Bc if I get upset with one book I read a bit of the next then go back and forth lol

message 50: by Katie (new)

Katie | 32 comments I tend to read paperbacks the most (though that's because most of the time, that's what the books I'm interested in usually comes in). I don't mind hardbacks though.

I read one back at a time or other wise I forget what's happening.
