I'm relatively new to Goodreads and just found out about this great opportunity from my fellow author, Jenny Burke. Is it too late for me to join the convention? My just came out in paperback, so I can offer signed copies as well as kindle versions of my dystopian, sci-fi The Wastelanders. I can offer some other giveaways as well...
Thanks, Tim Hemlin.

Never too late! :) Welcome :) PM me if you have questions or email me at abchrysler@yahoo.com :)

I have a few more questions... Hopefully I'm not being too much of a bother...
Okay:
1. Does it matter if the lottery giveaway is the same as my other 3 giveaways? ie: signed copy of The Wastelanders and matching bookmark/
2. I'd also like to giveaway 3 copies of my kindle version along with matching keychains. And possibly also copies of my kindle short story Black Silence, a Wastelander short story.
3. I've done several blog hops, but how do you envision it working in accordance with the conference?
Thanks for your help,
Tim Hemlin

Not at all :) Bother away :)
1 - Does it matter if the lottery giveaway is the same as my other 3 giveaways?
Nope! Does not matter :) It can be whatever you want to add to the pool :) All authors will be responsible for fulfilling their own contribution.
2. I'd also like to giveaway 3 copies of my kindle version along with matching keychains. And possibly also copies of my kindle short story Black Silence, a Wastelander short story.
Go for it! One donation for the lottery is all that is needed. Your additional giveaways can be organized from your "booth" however you would like. There really is no wrong way to do this :)
3. I've done several blog hops, but how do you envision it working in accordance with the conference?
I see the Convention as being a stop on the blog hop. I plan to make a Discussion area away from the "author booths" that just offers the blog hops. One thread per stop.
Contact me directly with details and I can help you out with that :)

For book giveaways, are the entrants just to comment in order to win? If so, how are winners selected?
I don't have a website, but I have a blog and I can make a linked page. Would that work?
Okay, that's only two, but I assure you, I'll have more. :)
Hello, Christina, and welcome! Thrilled to have you :)
"For book giveaways, are the entrants just to comment in order to win? If so, how are winners selected? "
The giveaways are handled like any other giveaway. Will this be your first? If you are unfamiliar with the process, its simple. You need to have a drawing to see who wins the giveaway. Online, to enter a giveaway "entering" a drawing can be as easy as "hit reply" and type in your name.
You can change things up and send the Hopefuls on an online scavenger hunt have them do or post something to participate.
Let me know if you need ideas. You can view the link "Giveaways" and other threads to see what others are doing for giveaways. You will be responsible for mailing out/sending any giveaways you offer.
"I don't have a website, but I have a blog and I can make a linked page. Would that work?"
Absolutely :) I recommend you drive readers to your blog or page to boost your readership. There are "Teams" people are putting together to help each other name drop :) You are more than welcome to browse the threads on this site or the Convention site or PM me :) I have a 24 hour response time. My email address is abchrysler@yahoo.com
We also have banners available if you wish to post them on your site to advertize to your readers :) Let me know!

We are doing a Lottery if you are interested. It's a larger group giveaway that I am managing, but any writer can donate to the lotteries, which are divided by genre.

Hello, Veronica. I'm sorry about the delay. I had something on my end come up.
At this point, you will want to head over to the main convention site (here is the link: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...)
There, you will want to begin a thread under "The Romance Fair Grounds" and put together a conversation as seen in the other threads.
Here are some interview questions you are welcome to answer and post to your thread:
1. Describe your favorite scene in your your book and tell us why its your favorite.
2. Which of your characters, do you relate to the most (or) who is your favorite character and why?
3. “Story” has always been the center of all human cultures. We need it. We seek it out. When we lack it, we invent it. What does “story” mean to you?
We also have a lottery going on :) If you are interested, sign up is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
One more thing...We have "team" sign ups for authors looking to pair up with a team to help name drop. The link for that is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
PM me if you have any questions :)

Excellent! Welcome, JD!
Follow this link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
Start a thread (that's a "booth") and set it up like a fair booth. You can browse the other threads to see how they are set up if you need samples.
Here are some interview questions you are welcome to answer and post to your thread (I will not be needing them back. They should be posted by April if you wish to post them at all :)

My question: is it okay to do two booths?
I have two completely different series: one epic fantasy (YA) and the other adult military dystopian. I'd rather keep them separate and don't mind the double set-up if it is ok.

Hi, Autumn!
Glad you caught us in time!
Due to the number of authors at the convention, I can only allow one thread per author. The thread should be geared to promote the Brand, which is you, the author, and not the book titles. If you have any questions about "Branding" PM me :) I love to talk and will be on Goodreads all this week.
What I recommend, is start a thread then "reply" to your own thread once or even twice. Each "post" can feature each book/genre.
Sorry for the inconvenience :(

Authors from across the web and globe are coming together at one place, at one centralized time to offer the largest giveaway to readers.
When: WE HAVE A DATE! The first weekend in April! April 3,4, and 5th! Friday the 3rd at Midnight Australia time it will open! All day Saturday the 4th and it will end Sunday the 5th at midnight California time to welcome in the 6th!
How Long will the convention last?
I have been saying one week, but I think seven days is too long. I am taking a chapter out of all the other conventions and saying THREE DAYS. The convention will last only three days.
What time will the convention start?
The convention BEGINS DAY #1 AT MIDNIGHT OF THE FIRST TIME ZONE (Japan, New Zealand, Australia) AND ENDS MIDNIGHT OF THE THIRD DAY OF THE LAST TIME ZONE (Alaska, Hawaii, California).
We have authors in South Africa, Australia, London, New York, California, Alaska...SO EXCITING! HELLO, WORLD! Due to the global awesomeness of this, there is no time limit. You check in when you want to, when you can. You will open and close your "booth" when you are available.
I recommend you state "THE AUTHOR IS IN" or "THE AUTHOR IS OUT" on your booth on your first post of your thread. (I suggest posting your Time Zone) so a reader/fan can plan to check in to speak to you :)
To change your status, you will need to edit your first post upon check in and check out. Obviously, the more you are in, the more "business" you will conduct. You will not have to answer to me or anyone if you don't show up, leave early, or stay late. We are adults and you answer to no one.
I plan to pull 3, 10-hour days and will have Goodreads and my website open as long as I can for those three days.
Where: This is the "ADMIN" group and not the actual site. The site is here:
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
It is currently labeled as "private" ... ah! No! I changed it to public this morning to encourage readers/authors to join it now and not later. All threads will be deleted a day or two before the event to "clear" the area for our layout.
WRITERS. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR STARTING YOUR OWN THREAD IN THE DISCUSSION LABELED "FAIR GROUNDS". I WILL NOT HAVE THE TIME TO DO THIS FOR EVERY SINGLE AUTHOR ATTENDING.
If you need help learning how, let me know and if you are a procrastinator, see my note in the welcome window.
If you have questions or need to "save" your info somewhere safe for your event, open a thread and post it there :)
