I first read this book around 2010, but it was my dad's first so it could be originally from the 80s to 2000s. Ithink the cover was dark, but I'm not too sure. The font on the cover was most likely gold and in that ornate spiky font most old fantasy/steampunk books used. I believe it to be steampunk or at least steampunk themed, and the main character is a young girl from a play that's mostly chicken farms - she has a nightmare of sorts in the book about the chickens and the possibility of it being her future. She finds a man on the beach, and this man either has many faces or many heads, and he's a criminal I think. They end up going on an adventure escaping the many headed man's capture.
