Can you tell me what location or characters these books have in common?

(The series title appears at the top of the cover of this book as well as all the other books and short stories.)

The series title does not make it a series by Goodreads standards.
If there are specific instances of recurring characters, that would make it a series.
A theme does not make a series.

As I mentioned in my previous message, there are specific instances of recurring characters. To wit:
+ The character Hauer appears in Cloaked, "Blizzard at Three Bears Lake," and One Bad Apple.
+ The character Mary Rose O'Brien appears in Cloaked, "Blizzard at Three Bears Lake," and "Gruff."
+ The character Christopher Small appears in Cloaked and "Gruff."
+ The characters Jedediah Jones, Alice Jones, and Dolores Algona, who appear in Dancing and Doughnuts, will appear in the upcoming short story "Lived in a Shoe" alongside eight characters from the book One Bad Apple (this short story will be released close to Christmas, like "No Match for a Good Story" and "Blizzard at Three Bears Lake")
+ The character Emma Thornberry from "No Match for a Good Story" will appear in book 4.
This is most emphatically a series, and I'm confused as to why this is an issue when the previous titles have been linked to the series with no question.

As I mentioned in my previous message, there are specific inst..."
I. I don't add anything to a series, unless I know it fits the rules.
2. I'm here to help, and I asked these questions to make sure I understand how to help you.
3. Works that are considered a series by Amazon retail standards are not necessarily a series by Goodreads cataloging standards.
4. You blurbs indicate a theme, but not any recurring characters.
5. I will add a description to your series, so that this will not be an issue in the future.
Thank you for your explanation, it's what I needed to know.

If you look at other series posts, you will see that librarians often ask for clarity.

No.
that may or may not fit the criteria either.
I'm looking at the series that is set up for you. the numbering does not match. the number on a book does not match the number on the series.
Can you tell me the correct order? [I really am just trying to help]

As it happens, it likely is, but it isn't what I'm working on. I'm trying to help you.
Goodreads Librarians are volunteers, and I want to understand the issues before I make any changes.

I have added the book.
But I still need to know if it is a novella or a novel, and the correct order of the other books, as the book number and the series numbers do not match.

thank you for your assistance.

The first story, which is novella-length, is actually "The Man on the Buckskin Horse," which is available in the anthology Five Magic Spindles. However, because I do not own the rights to that because of publishing agreements, I cannot list that as "book one" or "story one" in my series at this time, and Goodreads wouldn't make that work anyway, so that's okay, no big deal.
Thus, Cloaked is listed as Book One.
Because Goodreads won't allow me to number any work as ".5" I can't list the short story "No Match for a Good Story" as .5 even though it follows "The Man on the Buckskin Horse," not Cloaked. The best I could do was call it 1.5, even though logically, "Blizzard at Three Bears Lake" ought to be 1.5 because it DOES follow Cloaked. And then "Gruff" follows "Blizzard at Three Bears Lake," so I list it as 1.75.
If I could change "No Match" to something like 1.25, I would, but Goodreads wouldn't accept that no matter how hard I tried, I don't know why.
Book Two is Dancing and Doughnuts.
Book Three is One Bad Apple.
If you know of a way to fix the numbering on the short stories, to make "No Match for a Good Story" be either .5 or 1.25, that would be amazing, because I've been beating my head on that wall for 2 1/2 years now. Then "Blizzard at Three Bears Lake" could be 1.5 like it ought to be.
Thanks for your patience -- I was just so confused about why this was being called into question, and worried that the series name would be eliminated somehow.
I know you're not working on the Goldstone Wood series, I was simply offering that as an example of a similar anthology-style series.

There are a lot of romance themed stories that get made into series, and if they don't meet the rules, someone will notice it and delete it. I don't want to make one that will be deleted, so I ask questions up front.
I also make notes in the series librarian notes so that you shouldn't have to go through this litany again.
I will see if I can make sense of what you said about the series, but I will make it work, and hopefully make you happy at the same time.

We list lots of anthologies as parts of various series.

so I'll ignore that for the time being.

Goodreads uses 0.5. - so changed to that

Goodreads doesn't use 2 digit decimals. So it becomes 1.7

Book Three is One Bad Apple.

So now we are making it right. I have updated the series numbering, so now I'll correct your book titles to match. If you don't understand anything I did here, please advise.

I'm glad you are pleased
