How to be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi

4 stars - This was an excellent short and general book to introduce the reader to the intersecting kinds of "isms" that determine our society. I really liked Kendi's use of examples from his own life, admitting that he has held beliefs in the past that he now sees as racist. He explains that we will always have these ideas, the point is to recognize them and work to change the policies that support them. I also liked the section on not blaming lack of progress on other people, instead seeing that our methods aren't working and creating new ones. It's not about blaming anyone or succumbing to despair, rather he gives a vision of how we can all work together.
