Richard | 0 comments I have a vague memory of a short story I believe was written by Maupassant, but I could be wrong.
Hard to explain but the concept involves a frozen moment in time whereby the most significant moment of a persons live becomes an image, like a still image in photography and as such gains an eternal quality.

Paula Cappa Do you know the title of the story, Richard? I love de Maupassant.

Paula Cappa Oh, sorry forgot this part, was the title "After Death"?

A DEAD WOMAN'S SECRET is in Volume 12 here:

I wasn't successful in matching "Death" or "Le Horla." But the list here of "all" his short stories may or may not be of use.

Richard | 0 comments Thank you very much Lily for the links. At the moment I still can't identify it but appreciate your help. It may not be Maupassant, but I was reading his short stories around that time so maybe I've confused him with the writer?
