I’ve already started reading the book and I’m really enjoying it. So far it’s a great space police drama type story, which I’m digging.

I am about 100 pages in and really enjoying it. Far-future human settlements with other species intermixed. Humans that developed psychic/psionic abilities and caucasians in the minority. The murder mystery is a bit of a jumble at the moment, but it seems like it’ll be a fun ride. The atmosphere reminds me a bit of something else, Star Wars? I’m not sure what, if someone else figures it out, let me know!

Re-read this and the sequel several times and I find it a great book for immersion in the world she's built.

Thanks, Carro! I didn’t know there was a sequel. Does this one stand alone? Or are there threads that only resolve in the sequel? I’m very bad at series and would need a really compelling reason to read the sequel immediately.

I finished it and sadly found it forgettable and kind of messy. It just wasn’t my kind of thing.

Sorry, Diane, I agree that it does get better as it goes on, but it still wasn't catching my attention. I may try to come back later, but I'm gonna stop reading for now.
