Laura | 12 comments Six Of Crows By Leigh Bardugo is such a thrilling read! By far this series, The Grishaverse, is in my top three all-time favorites. This book is the first in the duology, although the author also has a different series that takes place in the same universe as well. The New York Times Bestselling Author, Leigh Bardugo, describes this fantasy world with no small gusto. It's beautifully written with mesmerizing descriptions and a unique world system entirely created by Bardugo's brilliant mind. Not to mention resilient, endearing characters that will steal your heart and your breath away.

The book is centered on the plot of six ruthless people embarking on a quest for untold riches and a heist that will lead them across the world. The six characters are all so unique and hilarious as they work together to find a missing scientist and leading him back to the bustling trade city of Ketterdam. Although it may be tough for them even if they don't all kill each other in the process... I had no idea what I was getting myself into when opening this book, but it's just a masterpiece. The puzzle pieces fall into place so seamlessly and the characters are so genuine.

Something about this book I absolutely loved was the diversity of the six. Kaz Brekker is the leader of the group, a crime lord from the heart of Ketterdam struggling with PTSD from the death of his brother. There is Nina, will her eating disorder and uncanny abilities that lead her into trauma. Then there is Jesper, hilarious and thoughtful, but that's all a cover for the pain that lies beneath his skin. Mattias, confusing and mysterious as ever having to decide between his loyalties and his true feelings. Inej, abused and mistreated hasn't made her entirely heartless just yet, she will forever hold onto the hope of reuniting with her family once more. Inej is probably the character I most admire, she's so determined and unbroken in the world fond of the destruction of beautiful things. And lastly, Wylan who's in just as much confusion and chaos as the readers following along this epic quest.

This book is definitely not to be overlooked. It has amazing character development and the world system is so intriguing, it's simply impossible to not want more of. Leigh Bardugo is a master at writing and this book is so impressive, it went above and beyond all my expectations.
