ABANDONED. Children/YA (grade 6?) reader/textbook of Sci Fi? short stories, 1989. 1st story?: writer has their time stolen, then given back by police. 2nd story?: spaceship w invisible stalker only colorblind hero can see. (Possibly from diff. books.)

The book I'm looking for is the 6th grade (? I used it in sixth grade) reading book/textbook (larger size) of short stories used in my Pittsburgh, PA class in about 1989.

One story is a writer who has their time stolen, and then given back (to be used) by the police. A second story is a space ship with an invisible stalker that only our black/white colorblind protagonist can see.

I read through it quickly at the time, so this is for nostalgia purposes for my kid.

What's the genre or tone - e.g., science fiction, fantasy, funny, scary?

I'm not sure. I had assumed it was a textbook at the time, but now am not so sure. Science Fiction?
