Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments What book about the Tudors or Tudor England would you like to have as our Group Read in August 2020?

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.

Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.

Two nominations to a person, please.

@Susanna: How much do these books overlap?

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments Not sure, Natalie - I haven't read them.

Just to clarify - Portrait of an Unknown Woman rather than Catherine of Aragon: An Intimate Life of Henry VIII's True Wife? Sure.

This is fantastic but we read it in October 2018.

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 163 comments @Susanna: I would prefer Portrait of an Unknown Woman by Vanora Bennett to be my first nomination.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments OK.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments If anyone still has a nomination to make, now would be a good time.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments Alright, I will nominate Elizabeth's London: Everyday Life in Elizabethan London and Murder by Misrule.

And with that I close nominations.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments The poll is now open. You'll find it at the top of the group's Polls page, the bottom of its Home page, or here: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/2... .

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments If the poll closed now (which it does not), the winner would be Francis I: The Maker of Modern France.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 2165 comments The biography of Francis I was indeed the winner, and we'll be discussing it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... .
