It's a group of teens/college age kids that are all chosen by a well-to-do clothing company to spend the summer as influencers in a Hamptons-esque beach town. They have to document their every move on social media to gain attention for the brand. They have periodic video check-ins with their female boss to see how everyone is doing.
The story opens fourth of July weekend and two female characters are at someone's pool and someone has been killed. The rest of the book is piecing together everything leading up to that night at the peak of the summer.
