Pick for Me Challenge!!!

Lurkers...first time newbies...anyone, feel free to join! Welcome to summer, join us in the land of feel good fun!

This challenge has endured the test of time in our group because it is definitely the most fun! Feel free to participate each month, or when your schedule allows. We're not picky, we love seeing you when you can!

The How-to
1. Create a new shelf, or update an existing shelf on your Goodreads profile, that includes approximately 20 books that you would like to have someone else use to pick a book for you to read. Label it "Pick For Me." Only books from this designated shelf will be selected for this challenge, (no matter how badly some of us want to pick something else...hint hint, pick-happy moppets...*giggle*)!

2. Post in this thread that you want to participate this month. If you don't post here, I won't necessarily remember that you want in.

3. Provide the link to your Pick For Me shelf, (this will make it a bit easier for all parties involved... unless you all really *want* to read Corrupt. *a new month, a new pick from me!*) This is really important, especially this month. I want to make sure that the link to everyone's shelves hasn't changed...I had a bit of a snafu with my links, so humor me please :) If you're having difficulty finding the link to your shelf, please let me know.

4. On July 1st, *cough, cough* someone...the hand of fate, maybe, *cough, cough* will use the randomizer to pair up everyone. (Or worst case scenario, I really will just do the old making of a list on a piece of paper and draw lines between everyone, and you *know* what that means, *shifty eyes* see above for my pick for the month, LOL!)

5. Friend your partner who is picking for you or set your profile to public or your partner will not be able to access your shelf.

6. Post your selection for your partner in this thread.

7. Come back after finishing the book selected for you by your partner (even if it's after the month has ended) and let everybody know what you think about it, or at least that you've finished...or DNF'd it (another book off your list is always a win in our book!)

**The sign up period will remain open until pairs are posted on July 1st and you'll have until the 4th to select a book for your partner or one of these other scavengers will swoop in and do it for you.**

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments I got Leslie!! I'm both excited and nervous...I want to pick something you'll like. I'm going with Never Enough by Kelly Elliott It was one of my favorite reads last year so I'm crossing my fingers that you'll enjoy it!!

Lynette, I think this was one of the easiest choices I've ever made... Prepare to settle in, my friend! American Queen (New Camelot Trilogy, #1) by Sierra Simone

message 22: by Marissa (new)

Marissa (marissadonofrio) | 169 comments Jen, my pick for you is Fortuity (Transcend, #3) by Jewel E. Ann ! I love this series so much! Hope you enjoy!

message 23: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Melinda, I'm going to have to go with The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James for you. I can't wait to hear if you find it scary. I'm in the mood for something really creepy that gives me goose bumps and makes me check behind the shower curtain for killers. So, you shall be my guinea pig and let me know what you think. I hope you adore it!!!!

message 24: by Layne (new)

Layne | 146 comments Grey, the only book I’ve read on your list is mine! ha ha! But I just can’t pick that for you. So I’m going to go with The Billionaire Boss Next Door by Max Monroe I’ve never read anything by Max Monroe, but I met them at the first Book Bonanza & they were so sweet! I don’t know why I’ve never read one of their books, but this one was mentioned a few times by others I follow & it sounds like the perfect summer read. And hey, if you end up loving it, then maybe I’ll read it next. :p

T. Rosado (trosado) | 338 comments Son of a biscuit eater, Layne! You have a few of my faves on your list and I’m having a hard time. I don’t know your tastes well, so I’m just going with a book that I loved, but is very unique. If you enjoyed the writing style in All the Ugly and Wonderful Things, you will get that here, too. A completely different type of book, but the writing is fantastic!
The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood

Oooh! Yay! That one has been on my list for awhile. I read & loved All the Ugly and Wonderful Things. Tarryn Fisher is a huge fan of Bryn’s & recommended this one. I’m so excited! And this right here is why I love this group.

Ooh, thanks, Layne! I'm on Max Monroe's ARC team, and I didn't opt in for this one because of one reason or another...I think I was deep in an edit at the time...so I'm super excited to get to it now. Thank you! <3 And don't think you're off the hook about your book, missy...I will get to it... I promise!

Melinda, I'd say it's definitely creepy, but not what I'd call scary. Also, if you like audiobooks, the audio version is done very well. Have fun!

Nicole (nikkitikkitavi) | 63 comments Renee, Your list scares me. It contains some very serious-looking books which look like they might scar me for life. I only recognized two of the authors. I have chosen The Other Side by Kim Holden for you. Kim Holden can flat out tell a story. Her books will scar you for life, but only in the best of ways. Enjoy!!😍

LOL! I guess my list has gotten a bit heavy.

I'm on an audio-only thing right now since I can't read while I'm editing (for some weird reason), but my list is light on romance because I don't enjoy listening to them (cringey narrated sex scenes).

But this one is an event, and I loved listening to Bright Side and Gus, so I've got my fingers crossed. Thank you!!

message 49: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Judy, my pick for you is:

Southern Storms (Compass, #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry

Haven't read it yet, but love B. Cherry! Hope you like it!
