A Man Called Ove: a perfect escapist?

He is perfect escapist- tried to commit suicide, but humorously failed; even once he was stabbed by burglars, he was saved by doctors. He who never missed to miss his late wife. He is strangely strange. But he is one of the most wonderful characters I read.
He left a letter behind him which titillate a soft smile mixed with love and affection- with a strange cocktail like feeling, an unprecedented character.
