I read the book around 2018-2019 (I think?). It was probably from a university library, but I can't find it in the catalogue.
Original language is German or English, maybe even French. I read it in German.
On the cover was a world map, in it were a lot of maps as well, which were compared to each other, their use, the history and the creator's idea and intention were explained as well.
The book was a scientific book (maybe even a dissertation), but also understandable for people with no prior knowledge.
