She carefully rips the page out of the sketchbook, embarrassed. She didn't want anyone else to see it. "It's nothing."

Asher nods. "oh okay. Dinners done."
Iz puts the drawing in her pocket and smiles. "Thank you. It looks really good."
Asher smiled. "Want me to bring it to you?"
"Only if you want to," she says, not really wanting to get up.
Asher nods and brings it to her. "Here you are." he said and pulled a fold up table to her.
"Thanks," she says, kissing him on the cheek.
Asher smiles. He sits down and starts shoving food into his mouth clearly very hungry.
Izzy eats quicker. "This is so good," she says after swallowing a bite.
Asher smiles. "Thanks." he said.
Iz smiles back and finishes dinner. “Thank you for making dinner.”
He nods. “Anything for you”
She rubs the back of his hand, smiling warmly. "Do you want me to clean up?'
Asher shakes his head. “I got it”
He smiles and starts cleaning uo
Izzy lays down on the bed and sighs. She wanted to go back to sleep, but looks at the time and decides it's too late.
Asher watches her. “Sleep. I’m gonna be up for a bit”
"B-but it's getting late..." she says, eyeing the time again. She holds back a yawn.
“I’ll be here.” He said softly.
"Will you wake me up at eight thirty?" she asks him.
"Promise?" she asks again, making sure he actually will.
Asher nods. “Yes I promise”
Izzy smiles, content with his answer. "Okay," she says, "Thank you." She lies down, pulling the covers up to her chin and closes her eyes, eventually drifting off to sleep.
Asher smiles he finishes cleaning before grabbing his bokk
About half an hour later, Iz starts to whimper, her dreams scaring her.
She twitches occasionally, curling up into a ball under the covers. Izzy looked distressed.
Asher goes over and lays next to her pulling her close to him. “It isn’t real Izzy”
When he touches her she screams and pushes Asher away, waking up with a start.
Asher puts his hands up. "Hey it's just me. Your safe."
“I-I’m sorry. I-I th-thought you were someone else.” she stutters.
"No it's okay. Come here." he said opening his arms.
Iz crawls into his arms with tears in her eyes.
Asher holds and rocks her.
A tear slips down her cheek and falls into her lap as she cuddles into Asher.
He doesn’t say anything. He just holds onto her lightly brushing her hair
"I'm sorry again," Izzy whispers into his shoulder, "I should be better than this."
“No baby it’s okay” he whispered. “I take care of you”
These words cause a broken sob to escape Iz, grateful that she had Asher in her life. "You're way too good for me. You deserve better."
“You are all I ever want. Nothing else.” He said squeezing her hand slightly.
"I want to take care of you, too. It shouldn't be just you doing all the work," she says, hugging him still.
“You take care of me plenty” he said softly.
Asher holds onto her. "Wanna try sleeping again?"
She whimpers at the word but then thinks for a bit. "...Okay..." she says hesitantly.
