To do stand up comedy at Comedy Cellar"
I wish I could be there. If you become famous will you get me a front row seat?"
I would have to be famous to do stand-up at Comedy Cellar. And yes of course.

Oh I get you with the allergies, have suffered with terrible allergies all my life.

This may sound weird, but when I can talk with someone who also suffers from depression, and they have the same issues with people that I have. And when I describe how I feel, they understand.
Not that I'm happy that people are depressed, but when I find someone that understands me, it makes me smile.

I understand this. I feel like this almost every time I meet a parent with a child who has Asperger's or otherwise fits on what is now this continuing spectrum. NO ONE who doesn't have a child like this can truly know what it's like to parent one, although children vary a great deal and our experiences aren't all the same. But not if their Aspie is like my cousin who manages to function as a lawyer in commercial insurance in Canada--mine isn't emotionally that functional or mature.

I am also in the 'parent of a child with Asperger's club, Karin. I totally agree with what you said.

I had forgotten that (if I knew it :) ). Mine is 25 and we just had her re-diagnosed this winter now that they recognize she is disabled--I'll stop here.

My son is 30. I'll bet we could write a book about dealing with Asperger's/autism when not a lot was known about it.

Yes! I am very grateful that her kindergarten teacher had been a SpEd teacher for 20 years and that the principal had a background being the prinicpal of a former public school that was mostly pre-school and K with a focus on kids with learning issues, etc along with some "mainstream" kids so they'd heard of this and when I asked questions, suggested I ask to get an assessment, etc.
But her initial prognosis was excellent, so it's hard that it hasn't worked out that way. I hoped she'd be more like Liane Holliday Willey when she grew up, but there are other issues she has.
But, yes, we could write a book! Especially since our kids are probably very different in many ways given that Asperger's is an umbrella diagnosis...ADHD is also an challenge. My son's best early intervention OT has ADHD and so she loved her job because it was active and each stop only an hour. He is not an Aspie and is very bright, but had a different learning curve. BUT he is also a neuro-diverse person due to his dyslexia (but not the kind most people think of with scrambled letters--he can read out loud very well, but he fits as he has a cluster in what I choose to call the dyslexic spectrum).

No! If I could go back to any age knowing what I know now, I'd go back to 25--still young and winning against gravity, but with an adult brain.

I will agree with the rest of you. No way!

If I could go back while retaining everything I have learned, yes. Otherwise, NO.

For health reasons, I can't eat most of my true favourites anymore. But of the ones I'm 'allowed', I like strawberries ... if they're good tasting ones ... which I can't seem to get here! Boohoo!

One of my favourites was watermelon, but can't eat it now :( or any of my summer fruit favourites.

I am with Marge Piercy in her book Braided Lives, when she says "If there's a hell and they send me there, all they have to do is make me 14 again."
My favorite summer food is popsicles and (nondairy) ice cream.

I do like watermelon but corn on the cob on the grill is good too!

i don't really have one, but in my defense I grew up in warm weather climates where we really didn't have 'seasons' like summer and winter.

And strawberries and ice cream on a hot day.
Although its winter here and I've been having soup.

Yummm! I love all of it!

We're getting our first garden tomatoes now. I personally loathe raw tomatoes and cooked tomatoes (except in certain sauces), but my family likes them. That said, I enjoy taking care of them in the garden more than some plants.

I love spring because I love watching nature renew itself!

Beer. What? Not a food?"
It's made from grain and grain is a food so I would say it is a food.

Going to be the oddball. Winter."
That IS odd!"
Could be the clothes.

It has changed. When I was a kid it was spring and summer, but now with my allergies I like winter if it is snowy. That said, I don't like it really cold or really hot, but to go outside with no pollen or mould spores in the air is fabulous.
We have had mid 70 degree weather this past week. Almost unheard of in August. Wish it could be like this all year long.

I love it when it is c. 70-75 F and not humid. (too bad that never happens with no pollen...)

It's been like that here too! Someone told me the north wind is cooling down Lake Michigan so much that you can't swim in it safely. It's between 39 and 40 degrees. In AUGUST.

So many things. Mainly byproducts of rudeness.
